That looks amazing! Is that picture from the UK configurator?

These pics give a decent indication on a Superb - looks a bit blue to my eyes.

Thanks for posting the pix, but it makes me think that a Superb estate might be a better bet than an Octy3.

It is available with the 1.8 TSi engine, which is supposed to be the sweetest of the petrol engines.......

 

Any comments / advice?

It Is JanneShaffer, I did mine too. I don't think the configurator shows a good colour likeness TBH, but I have decided I am sticking with Metal Grey on the order even if it may be lighter than I expected

Yes - the configurator allows you to save the image as a PC wallpaper and generates a higher resolution pic which looks pretty accurate to me and better than the standard config image.

Yes please. It would be good to see what Metal Grey actually looks line on the Superb. There have been so may variations of the colour posted on this thread it is difficult to see what exactly Metal Grey looks like in the flesh.

 

The Superb that is shown in Metal Grey in an earlier post http://www.ebay.co.u...=Automobiles_UK   looked highly suspect and almost put me off the colour. I am hoping for a darker shade like those on the configurator.

 

I am still waiting on the dealer to confirm that my order (placed on the 17/12/13) has been changed to Metal Grey. I initially requested the colour change on the 14/1/14 and after a phone call today to the dealer, they are still unable to confirm that the change has been accepted on the order system. Given delays in production, I guess I have nothing to worry about for the moment.

Another thing to bear in mind that unless you monitors are properly calibrated, you aren't seeing the correct colour anyway.

Without seeing an actual sample / swatch in the metal, you can't fully make a decision on the colour just from looking at the posted pictures.

Picked up my new Superb this morning. As above, here are some shots taken shortly after I got it to give those of you waiting for Metal Grey an idea what to expect. TBH, and although I know my way around photoshop, I don't think these images do the new colour justice. It looks really smart when you see it and think it suits the car well. I doubt anyone would be disappointed to get an Octavia in Metal Grey, I think it would suit the new Octavia as well. Anyway, here you go, click on an image for larger:

Looking at the difference between the first pic and the second 2, it looks as if its quite reflective of sunlight, which would explain the variations we have been seeing.

Certainly keeping it as my colour choice after seeing those

You're welcome. I think it's one of those colours which looks subtely different depending on the light at the time. I'm also hoping it's a practical colour (as in, I once owned a white car but never again!).

Don't think so. Metal Grey got available this january on the vRS... haven't even seen a non vRS Octavia with this colour yet. BW13 on mine

Apparently, this colour is causing delays as they don't have enough or can't get hold of it  .... SUK are advising dealers to steer customers to something else.

You would have thought a new colour, which from past experience of darker metallic greys, they would expect to be popular, and would make sure they had plenty before adding to the list !

 

Doesn't look good for my car, plenty of extra's, one of which (kessy) is reputedly causing delay, now the colour .. gah !

Just got some news today! My car moved from BW21 to BW11!

Thing is that during the weekend my wife and I decided to cancel our order and go for a BMW.

 

If my dealer can 100% confirm BW11 we will stick to it, otherwise we will cancel. 

 

My order jumped from BW4 to BW13 to BW21 to BW20 and now BW11. All during januari... like a lottery.

The BMW is ready for pickup in 1 week... hmm.

Also ordered Metal Grey

 

Lease company have pre-orders in and I am told its build week 21.

BMW is really tempting at the moment

Tamkyo101, which leasing company did you order with? I will be placing my order tomorrow - exact same colour except I opted for "Pictoris" wheels. Why did you decide on the dark "Geminis" alloys? It is going to be long 5 months!

I used Jet leasing and dealt with Louis, I chose the Anthracite as I dont like the look of the Pictoris Silver wheels on a Grey car, If I was going for white or Silver I might have had silver wheels

Cancelled my order today. Picking up a BMW 520d Touring in two weeks. 6 months is too long wait for me!  :think:
