Metal Grey?

Featured Replies

I think this may be the "Silver Grey" which was be available until Oct 13 as the colour says "Titanium Grey".

Its difficult to say as the photos are no so good.

On the official German website for Skoda the new colour is called "Metall-Grau Metallic" which is darker. (Its Dark-Metallic Grey here in Switzerland).

When I get home, I'll compare this colour with the brochure I have (which shows the 2 colours which are discontinued in Oct 13).

  • Red, it matches the brakes and rear light cluster I would say having a popular colour can make a re-sale easier, you probably won't get any of that £500 back your right but it's also about buying what

  • another metal grey to the gang, really think it suits the RS hence why I chose it.

  • And here are some other shots taken in a different light at the dealers just before collection.

I've spent hours hunting through google & can't find one picture of an Octavia Mk3 in Metal Grey (Dark Grey Metallic).

These are some examples of the old grey colour which was discontinued:

I am hoping the new colour will be as dark as this Superb (similar to the same dark grey colour on the Audi or VW):

If only my build week would move forward I could post a photo of my car but at the moment I still have to wait until April... :(

It seems like Metal Grey/Dark-Grey Metallic/Gris Météore/Metall-Gris Metallic (delete based on country of origin) is a super secret new colour as I can't find a single image on the web of an Octavia mk3 in this colour.

I've been through several Skoda dealer group websites, autoTrader, AutoScout websites & can't find a single mk3 in this colour for sale with a picture...

I guess we'll all have to wait until someone actually recieves one....

Gabbo, Page 4 of this thread, post #115 by 030 ;)

As the colour was only introduced to the range mid Jan, and order to delivery is minimum 12 weeks (in most cases much more)  there aren't many Octy's in that colour about yet.

I know there were a couple of vRS's with this colour already built & in Switzerland in January as a dealer offered my a stock car from another part of the country when I was discussing my order.

Many of the Skoda dealers here list their stock cars on the website AutoScout24 so I was hoping I might find 1 advertised with pictures.

I did find 2 cars in Germany  with the correct colour but unfortunately there were no pictures... :(

Just got some news today! My car moved from BW21 to BW11!

Thing is that during the weekend my wife and I decided to cancel our order and go for a BMW.

If my dealer can 100% confirm BW11 we will stick to it, otherwise we will cancel.

My order jumped from BW4 to BW13 to BW21 to BW20 and now BW11. All during januari... like a lottery.

The BMW is ready for pickup in 1 week... hmm.

Did you stick with your order...?

I've just got the green light from the dealer that my order (Metal Grey/Dark Metallica Grey) is now confirmed for BW11 (next week) - was originally KW13 from an order mid-Jan-2014.

Given a couple of other posts in this same thread it looks like BW11 is "Metal Grey" week...

What is your order Gabbo?

VRS or standard O3? I have placed also an order for metal grey VRS TDI, late Jan. 2014 and I'm expecting to receive the car in june-july.

Edit: sorry I saw now in your signature that you ordered VRS. So if I understood right, you will receive the car in aprox. 10-12 weeks from order?

Edited by cip

Cip, I ordered a vRS TDI estate, metal grey with ACC and Columbus.

If it's available in 4 weeks, as the dealer states, it would be 12 weeks from order to collection.

I'm hoping it might arrive a bit sooner but I guess I should count myself lucky I've not had the 6 month wait like many others.

Wow ... this would definitely be a performance, if it will be delivered in 12 weeks.
Now you've made me very interested to call my leasing company.

Thanks for the info and enjoy the car.

Yeah I know.
When I placed the order, the dealer told me it could be June before it is available & I'd read all about the delays on this forum.
I was quite surprised when the gave me a a preliminary build week in April and even more so when they told me it was being built 2 weeks earlier than that.

It was a unique order to my specification but I don't know whether the dealer already had some orders in the system which they just modified slightly.

In Switzerland, all of the VAG cars seem to be sold by only 1 franchise (AMAG Auto) so perhaps with such a large group they also has lots of orders/buying power to play with.

Fingers crossed for some good news form your lease company...

From what I can see I placed my order two weeks after you did.

I was told to expect the delivery in May-June.

I will have news tomorrow, when our fleet responsible will discuss with leasing company.

Seems that l am not so lucky. Dealer denies that delivery will be done before June. :(

Been to see the dealer tonight & he confirmed that my car was built last week has been gate released.

Its "In Transport" at the moment so should expect it to arrive at the dealers in a couple of weeks.

I'll try to get some pictures as soon as its there.

I went to my local dealership yesterday and looked at the swatch of the metal grey. I took it outside in natural light and it's a very dark grey with just a hint of a blue. It's actually very nice indeed.

This has the makings of "The Best VRS Colour"!

Yes Les, it could be a cracker! It's one of those "mmmmm, I'm not sure until I see it on a car" type colours. However, these dark greys seem to work on all cars in the VAG system. So thumbs up all round. But, personally, I'm undecided on the colour to get myself. I'm torn! I am actually considering the Rallye Green! (top 3 colours Blue, Green and White)

Metal Grey looks classy- in my view and good sell on colour eventually.

From what I have seen, It will be a really great colour, its what I would have gone with had my order been kept.

I don't think so. I've tried to find the colour (F6F6) on Audi/VW/Seat but no luck :(

Found more pics on Metal Grey on the face lifted Superb

So far I'm the only one in Sweden with a Metal Grey Octavia on order

Well, not anymore - I just placed an order my Octavia Estate (Combi) and just like You I changed to Metal Grey... I think the colour looks classy!

Jan

BW15 confirmed for a few weeks now, and then three weeks delivery time to the north pole.

Didnt order winter tyres so the timing is perfect :)

From a russian forum. Googled Octavia f6f6.

I found these 2 links on another Russian car forum which seems to suggest that these pictures are also Metal Grey.

They're not the best pictures due to the background lighting but seem to match the colour from the picture Rawr found.

I'm hoping my car will arrive at the dealers this week so I will take lots of photos & post them as soon as I have some news...

My car arrived at the dealers today & will be collecting on Thursday so I'll post some pictures asap when I've managed to take a look at it...
