ordered mine: A  candy White VRS diesel estate manual, only extra spare wheel, on 28th December. Told it would be up to 25 weeks at the time and the dealer has just contacted me to say no build week yet.

I'm not good a waiting for stuff but at least I knew there would be a substantial wait when I placed the order.

As far as I know (and I daren't) ask I'm still tracking for BW21, though this has been through SUK not dealer.

I agree with the comments about contact, even just a brief 'no news' email every so often would be useful, to be fair when I've initiated contact with the dealer they have responded almost quickly, lol.

I've also sold my other piece of cr#p (Insignia VXR) so one issue off my plate but I'm impatient and if the build pushes back more than a week or so it will be enough for me to invoke a backup plan (err, best think of one), or I may just keep the 02, 100k Bmw 320 se I picked up for £1200 to see me through, so far it's much better than the VXR, lol.

Really need a SUK online order tracker.....

Was told of a 20 week wait in order. Anticipating a mid-May pick up date.

Only 3 weeks in... It's going to be a long winter and spring and possibly summer!

Just had an email back from the dealer still no provisional build week allocated... <sigh>

Just got off the phone with the dealers. My race blue 1.4TSI elegance hatchback is waiting for a boat at Emden. Ordered 28th Dec.

Dealer phoned this afternoon, my pacific blue 1.4 TSI Elegance HB has arrived with them and they will have the Skoda towbar/electirics fitted for 3.30pm Sat 1st of March, can't collect earlier as I'm on a 14 plate & working in the morning. Order 28th Dec too, who'd you order through Dnworkin100 ?

Hi themanwithnoaim, I ordered through Mitchells at Ellesmere Port.This will be my 3rd Octavia from them. They are the only dealer that has EVER had repeat orders from me. I think they do a great job.

So. Order accepted 5th dec.

 

Have been BW 19 since mid Jan which is frankly rubbish deleivery anyway.

tdi VRS Estate, Meteor Grey, Pano roof, Canton etc etc

 

Now just been told by SUK there is no build week as they are rearranging at the factory........................ and anyway it does not mean anything until a week before anyway.  They appear to think it is fine and we will be happy to wait until the factory see fit to build it with no actual information.

 

Does anyone have any insight (a vain hope I know) as to weather this rearrangement is likely to be an improvement or step back?

 

Meanwhile Volvo and BMW are quoting less than 12 weeks factory build and are really keen to take my money..............makes me start to think of a plan B

Actually managed to get to speak this morning to the salesman I dealt with when ordering.

 

Basically when you cut through the bull he still has no idea when my car will even get a build date ( for what that is worth ), when put on the spot he reluctantly admitted delivery unlikely before end of June / early July!!!  I've not even specified a load of extras either, only space saver and the canton sound system!!

 

Sorry but some 7 to 8 months wait is not really acceptable, so next week ,it is working up plan B and getting my deposit back . Regrettable, but head is going to have to over rule heart on this one.

I hope they're putting in a vRS TDI line all of its own, god only knows they need one.

Grrr. Is the not knowing that is a pain.  2 months on from placing my order i thought it time to ring the dealer for an update. They get their updates each Thursday, so I called yesterday pm... Heard some worrying ' oo-err' noises from the dealer then promised a call back after they had checked by phone with SUK (SUCK?) No return call so I just checked in again.  Tbh, they don't seem to have a clue.  Apparently it's changed status so that's good (I'm told). It's moved from 'confirmed order' to 'unconfirmed build' but my provisional be 13 seems to have vanished with no replacement.  The dealer reckons the movement is good and I should expect something soon..... He is not convincing me with his bravado!

 

Poo.   Hmm seat do a fair military discount..... Leon fr or cupra St perhaps?   If only I knew how long the Skoda wait really is!

i'm probably going over old ground and well trodden but i too am looking at the "plan b" thread with interest...

 

i wasn't too bothered about the long wait when i ordered but it would be nice to have a least an indication that i'm in the system. after 2 months i still have no update or indication that i will get my car before the IV is released!

 

my dealer has indicated he's lost 18 contract orders already this year already due to being unable to deliver! all vrs orders.

 

at what point do you cut your losses and take your money elsewhere? not even a ripple in the skoda pond after 8 weeks... :-(

This sounds very promising... I wonder. A vRS only production line?

Just emailed mine again after hearing some have changed to no build week and getting me worried but luckily mine it is still sitting in build week 17 so 9 weeks to go. Hasn't moved forward again (was originally week 21) but at least it's not going backwards!

I guess it depends on when this rearranging takes place, what they're trying to do and whether production is being halted whilst the rearranging happens....... my dealer has promised an update Monday but given me an option to cancel if I want without penalty.

Well I'm going to be waiting after all. Company car and can't change my order for something else. Blessing in disguise really. Is a great car. Just really hope I don't have to wait until July for it as predicted at the moment.

Just been on to Skoda UK again,you ordered five days after me virtually same spec still no info on mine. Good news for you but getting seriously cheesed off with lack of info coming from Skoda yet again waiting for call from them to no doubt tell me no further info, starting to consider plan b alternatives.

Hey guys, I'm new. I ordered my 4x4 Octavia 2.0 TDI 150PS SE with a load of options on 20/12 and I'm told it is now in the UK- currently 2-3 weeks ahead of schedule (build date was given as week 10). I think the 4x4 orders are benefitting from the Scout not being being released with the other models and the additional capacity on that line for the ambulance service orders.

I have a missed call from my dealer on my phone... Hmm....I hope he wants to tell me mine has arrived out of the blue!

Oh b#*%£:*s!  Dealer is as frustrated as me.... On the up I have a bw again... But it ain't Good news  ...bw20 or 12 may.  so with build, ship, register, tax...mid june collection, 2 months later than my original expected collection.

 

He thinks that bw is 'confirmed' though....have skoda changed the system?

Just been in to the dealer for an update.  He showed me screen after screen of VRS orders that have dropped off the build radar.  He did feel that my original build week 19 would resurface at some point.
