December orders club! pull up a chair, we could be here a while

Featured Replies

Thanks yes I ordered a vrs, big mistake, I genuinely wouldn't have if I'd been told the wait. I'm actually really annoyed with myself for not cancelling when I was given the provisional build date because I could have had my second choice car twice by now - my old motor is depreciating by the second, too.  I was quoted 16 weeks for delivery and currently still looking at 30+.  Really really unimpressed.

I understand cars might be built in batches but I did not add any of the so-called troublesome options and I fail to see how they can justify building one car 6 weeks from order and make another wait 28 weeks, without so much as ever giving anyone any actual reason why.

I won't name the dealer since to be fair they have been reasonably helpful, according to them there were no quota issues and they haven't been given a reason for the long wait by skoda, and they are still hoping it will move forward...

As one who's been here waiting since ordering just after Goodwood in July, I know how you feel.

Oh dear, that's bad.  I recieved some papers from the dealership yesterday, they said my car was expected with them 4 April. 2 weeks then needed for tax and registration.  Probably just dealer rubbish but it is still in line with 20 April date I was originally given

Hallo everybody, last info for vRS orders, from "high floors" of Czech factory is that, ADAPTIVE CRUISE ASSISTANT(with radar) and "Columbus" are "breaking" points for build week.

Not fully following the above?

ACC was removed some time ago for UK cars so should not effect our builds. ?

Was it pulled from the options list or pulled from the standard spec?

I ordered my car on December 23rd. I ordered the following:

vRS TDi estate

Manual

Black

Spare wheel

Heated front seats

Canton

Cruise Control

Panoramic sunroof

No build week yet (I checked with the dealer today). I was told, and am expecting, to see the car around May or June.

Was it pulled from the options list or pulled from the standard spec?

It was never standard, but it was pulled you can't order it at all in the UK as far as I'm aware? i really wanted this option :(

Its standard on all new golfs SE, GT, GTD &GTI which is why I think the parts bin is empty and it was removed so Vw and Audi can get the nice bits...

Called SUK, provisional build week 21 for my Vrs TSI hatch ordered 30th December.

Ordered 17th and got told end of December that I have week 16 as a provisional wait, however when I last checked the order had not been accepted by skoda.

Ordered Candy white vRS hatchback, manual TDI, black pack, sunset glass glass, standard cruise control, colour maxi dot, winter pack and spare wheel.

Just checked with the dealer today and found out that my build week has now moved to BW 14. Whoop whoop! (Although the "whoop whoop" might be premature - I guess I will have to wait and see)

Gave in, rang SUK, unconfirmed BW6 won't be confirmed till next week but, that should be 2nd week of March for collection or, 11 weeks total, not as bad as I was expecting, not that it'll be a vRS when it arrives but, no where near their waiting time either.

T

Ok apologies all round, firstly to you guys, as I am now aware that this week is BW4 and therefore, BW6 is the first week in Feb, add three weeks transport and dealer PDI, my car should be available for collection Saturday the 1st of March  or 9 weeks from order to delivery.  The delivery times are of course weather dependant.

Secondly, I must say sorry if I ever doubted my dealer, he didn't lie once in his sales pitch, he didn't tell me one single thing incorrectly about the car or its spec and he secured me a fantastic deal on the price so, as we've all named'n'shamed in the past here's a big Thank You to Nathan Piper at City Skoda, Basingstoke.

UPDATE

Went to the Belgian motorshow and spoke to a person related to the Belgian importer.

He told me sinds 13 jan there are some historical build dates

first W20

2nd no build week

3th W13

and at least W9, 4 build weeks in 8 days :@

I think nobody knows it at the moment?

Seems a total lottery.

I'm waiting for a response from dealer to see if it matches what SUK said.....

Here in Ireland the vRS ads are on the TV all the time now. I spoke to the local dealer and their heads are wrecked with the amount of people ringing to book a test drive after seeing the ad.

Fair bad marketing...

They can't even get a demo on the road, they also said an Estate should get built a lot quicker as the hatches have a huge backlog.

I understand that only estates were built for the first month of production, but that was august 2013. Surely by now they have dealt with any hatch back log.

Dropped into my dealers today for a quick chat with my sales man. As soon as he saw me he said "I thought I had some good news for you, now I'm not so sure"

Turns out my build week was showing as week 15 yesterday, but when he checked again the morning its disappeared off the system all together!

I'm in no rush for my vRS but was just interested to know. I've decided to play Russian roulette now anyway and add the winter pack, wonder what that may do to my build week!

Since it's 5 weeks since I ordered I rang the dealer for an update. Apparently I have a provisional bw13, which I believe starts 24 march. So allowing 2 to 3 weeks for build and ship to dealer and the stated 2 weeks for dealer to inspect and register, I'm looking at 19 to 20 weeks order to collection.  It's a slight slip on the April 20 date I had. Not too bad though I think.... So long as the current aging Mondeo keeps going a little longer!

Hmmmm... good luck for your Mondeo, my Octy Mk2 TDI shat oil through the turbo bearings, did the same to the replacement turbo too, me thinks theres something more gone wrong inside.  Now I'm in a brand new Hyundia I10 till the Mk3 arrives, its can't come soon enough being brand new or not, its not very nice & trust me, I'm being very VERY polite.

Just heard from the dealer mine was ordered on 15th December, accepted by factory but no provisional build date.

Seems a total lottery.

It did, wk21 which is May 21st.

Ha! My parents are about to order a new i10 probably! I've pushed them at the citigo but it seems likely they will get a bit of a discount on a next generation i10 which makes it a lot cheaper.   Hope it isn't too bad!

Well you shouldn't really expect too much when you're only paying £8,400 and the dealer had a choice of four different colours in stock, yeah in stock, done the paperwork on a Friday, picked it up the following Monday. Its the wifes replacement one but, for the moment we'll just have to run her old one a till my new Octy 1.4 TSI Elegance arrives, due the 0/03/14.

I have not bothered to call either Skoda UK or the dealer to find out a build week, when I ordered on Christmas Eve I was told 18 - 20 weeks, I don't it to come any later than that, my car current car is only taxed until the end of June as I went for 6 months rather than twelve.

Then again I don't want it to come any earlier than March as I want it to be a 14 plate.
