In three months... hopefully. :D

Adding weight?! :o  Shock horror! :D

Have you chucked those two bits of chassis on a set of scales yet? :D

Also front seat belt reels weigh a surprising amount too.  There also seems to be more scope for metal removal on rear doors, but I think you're fitting the CF ones?

There is a lot more to come out Jason. :)

Not weighing it until near the end, keep the suspense up regarding if we got under 1,000kg without the driver.

Personally I am not a fan of using the rear seatbelt eyes as they seem a bit low.

Better to use a cross bar from the cage. (when it goes in)

Well, pro teams used to use the rear belt eyes, and were the ones who started the harness bar thing...

Used to...

Just because they used to doesnt mean its the best/safest way to do it. otherwise it would still be done by professionals nowhere days.

I meant that they'd actually changed to using a technique that makes the car heavier and higher CoG, so there must be some sort of reason...

this should be break into the high tens surely???

Absolutely no idea Ben.

Drag racing doesn't really interest me so I'm not sure what a 400bhp lightened Fabia will do.

Best I ever managed in my Diesel Fabia was 13.6.

Aren't you worried about Leaf getting sparks on lights etc?

Top work from all your minions, taking shape quickly :)

No. :)

The outer skin of the Fabia is between the grinder and the LEAF.

i know darksides arosa is around 400 and runs high tens and maybe the fabia will be lighter

Who's doing the grinding? He looks familiar...

You have no idea how much that has tickled me. Hahaha.

The Arosa is similarly stripped so will be lighter as it's smaller.

It's also a diesel so may be similar power, but has more torque.

In short it'll be faster.

They are upgrading to a big V6 diesel at the moment...

The Arosa also uses proper drag slicks.  I think this little fabia will need them to get any form of traction off the line. :)

I think the Darkside Fabia VRS ran with the slicks too, that did about 12.5 or so.

Similar power to yours but obviously far better traction off the line.

That's the quickest UK Skoda I know of.

I thought it was a v10 diesel they were using?

Quite possibly, I haven't followed it that closely.  Just saw a pic on the book of faces.

both wrong lol its a v8 just seen a picture of the exhaust manifold

Got in early and put in an hour of grinding before the 7am start, following on from Danny's work yesterday.

Getting there...  down to just the outer skin in the C pillars and a lot of metal removed from across where the hatch bolts on.
