I had all intentions of using it - even drove from Devon to Essex to get it....  There we go :D

Steve why do you think i sold Richard my car ;)

Sell it to him.

Watch him do something crazy to it.

Buy it back at a later date when he gets bored/has a new project/has a garage clear out/needs to raise thousands of pounds for new brakes for his GT-R/Citigo

Class. :D

Engine wise, how about a w an kel (sorry mods, can't put the name in due to swear filter, I guess it is Jap porn though) Go nuts with power to weight and keep the front end nice and light to keep the car balanced

I think a greater understanding of Pasties hand to pocket ratio is in order for a Jap juice junkie to even enter the equation?

Thanks for the tip Mike.

I bought a salvage one for the Citigo project, which I think set me back about £2k.

All over light damage, cat C on an 04 or 06 plate.

Shame the TT-RS comes up so rarely with damage and is too £££££££ when it does. :(

What about the volvo t5 engine?

What about the volvo t5 engine?

Now that's a good engine!

Love the sound of a tuned 5 pot.

Now that's a good engine!

Differs slightly in terms of a few tuning bits to the ford RS engine but is basically the same engine, only the ford RS engine is more tuneable

Inclined to agree, a 2.0 petrol just seems "right" in a WRC.  They were restricted to around 300bhp.

Actually, if the rare event happened that I did get hold of a TT-RS I'd probably put the running gear in my Yeti... and take the 320bhp 1.8tsi and maybe 4x4 over from the Yeti to the Fabia.

Sounds easy doesn't it. :giggle:

Ah well, for now and probably quite a while it's a diesel.

Love it and keep these posts going. Keep a retired engineer happy to see all this madness and ingenuity joining together.

That was a mistake... :peek:

Just had a peek on Copart at available salvage cars.

Three Audi S3 Quattros there, 2006-2010.

2.0T FSI, 260-odd bhp stock and APR Stage III+ kit says 440bhp, so they can clearly take a bit of tweaking.

So when is the donor S3 arrive  :bandit:

Sounds like it's a plan Richard, 2.0 is definately the engine to go for too IMO.

Please cage this and properly rally out the interior :)

Another great thread Richard.

I can't wait to see the results :)
