It'll be a warm hatch in that case then :D

I do have an odd desire to get a Clio 172 cup at the moment.

Not that I know F all about them.

Did notice you were quite busy on that forum too though. :D

I'm sure it'll pass.

Are they doing the conversion? :)

They were going to pull the engine out and rebuild it as a 2.0t.

I can't do that.

You're not the only one, I'm trying to resist until mid way through next year, yes I'm quite a regular on that forum now and also the WM rep.

http://www.cliosport.net/index.php?threads/Vickyx%27s-Green-Machine-%3B%29.624457/ my kind of green lump of cheese.

Edit - from what I've read they're reliable cars, don't rot as its all plastic you get a few squeaks and a lot have been built as racers.

It's one of the best cars you can get for less than £2000 imo

Yes and you two are not alone, especially after going out in Tom's which was a hell of a lot of fun!

To be honest Fabia plans have been a bit on the back burner.

Have been focused on the Yeti and even more on the Skyline so they are spot on for the track days I've had.

Once it all calms down for winter I'll probably get my head straight.

Is that after seeing Tom's at Brands?

The big F about them is they are French :D designed and drive well, but the electrics were done by a toddler group

Hmm I can see it now...

Corrado falls through, GTi plans go ahead as before, 3rd wavetrac diff requires purchase :P

Who's going to buy the 3rd one when the GTi plan changes to something else?

I know there's a few common electric faults with them as I've had them on mine, airbag and service lights come on if you knock wires under passenger seat, also if it's been Damp and you're foot is on brakes and indicators are on then it can interfere and flash brake lights. Etc

After going out in toms one I wouldn't say no to one of them. Brilliant little car! Just very expensive and difficult to get a timing belt done. Rob looked at getting one before he got the octavia vrs but that put him off, and he's a HGV tech by trade!

No, seeing Jake's and talking to him.

If he chooses one then it's obviously got it's positives.

Problem is the negatives, but for a toy you could rewire...

True, rip out all the non essentials :)

Of course you can do all that to a Fabia though... and with a 1.8t it'd have a decent amount more power per kg.

Aaargh!

Once you've done a couple they become easy, there's a bloke I know down in Essex who does them now as a weekend job.

Can someone on here hurry up and buy one so I can sell these damned door trims ;)

But would it handle as well? Having had a rather fun test drive in a 172 I'd guess not as it handles absolutely brilliantly. Point and Shoot :)

I spoke to jake about his. It doesn't really have essentials, no abs no traction no aircon etc. only on a cup version though. Not much to go wrong really!

Even a full fat Clio is so basic it takes about ten minutes to strip :)

Fire could do it faster!

Probably not.

Probably not as good as a Fiesta ST either.

Need Jake to take me out in his I think. :)

Idle thought Wednesday!

It'll rattle and squeak but once you've removed the dying rat from the glovebox you'll have a lot of fun. Easily the best car I've driven.
