its just been hectic! No loads gone to hull Skoda at the min. Just on my way back so I'll try have a look. Although I've got 21 cars to deliver today and up against it. 7 volvos too. I'll try my best and keep you posted.

Got some news after prompting dealer today. Car is in Grimsby awaiting transport after bw17.

Ben - not sure if you can help, dealer said it could be upto 14 working days to receive the car. I'm slightly concerned this exceeds my pcp contract (just) but dealer will look into this on Monday. What are your thoughts on delivery, is 14 days to provide contingency? Or is it likely to be delivered next week?

It's in a small load of cars so no close loading or risk of damage. No damage report with the car. I checked it over for you!

Please, use discretion when talking to the dealer that I'm giving heads up. If anything was to happen. Late delivery or damage! Not just to you're car, I mean any in future! The dealer can't cover it up with lame excuses as I've told you what's happening and when it goes out. Also I can only tell you that it's being delivered to the dealer. Not the pdi or collection time and date. Just covering my back.

Ben, do you deliver to Bickerton Skoda in Sheffield? Got a race blue Octavia 4x4 due to be delivered any day now, been at Grimsby docks for over a week.

I don't personally, as I can't get in with the truck I drive. But our company do. I shall see if I can spot it when I get back to the docks.

when I got back to the docks at dinner time, it was still there. I actually loaded rite next to it too! I'm in Volvo tomorrow to start with so I'll not be in Grimsby until 10am ish. So I'll check then too and update you.

That is the reason I give these updates!! As I know what crap some sales staff come out with. Least you can catch them out lying to you!

Does your return to Grimsby mean you'll do another load tomorrow? Do you happen to know when the dealer knows the day of transport to them? Just wondered whether they should have updated me already.

haha thank you, yes! I just noticed you had! The RS6 is the man who designed the perimeter wall at camp Bastian in Afghanistan! A mr Bastian will be proud of that car. I shall keep my eyes open for your car.

It doesn't have anything to do with the dealer when it comes to delivery! When the car lands in the docks, it gets a movement notice, the car has a certain time period of turn around in the dock! That is all in the hands on GBA who store the car and sort out all the movements. Our company put a request and a estimated time of delivery to GBA. Once the car has been pulled and put into a load lane ready to be delivered on a truck. It has then 24hr to get to the dealer or penalties will have to be paid by our company. Soon as that load is ready to go on a truck. The dealer get a auto e mail saying what cars and what spec at e due in the next 24hr. So they are not surprised with 11 cars on 1 delivery. That way, they have all the paperwork ready for when we turn up.

So. Yes, I do have a 2nd load out of Grimsby tomorrow! But I don't expect to see you're car still there! Once it's gone into the lane to be delivered! It doesn't stay long. We only have 45 lanes to fit cars into. And they all need clearing to allow for the next load of cars. Normally they are cleared every 6 hours.

Sorry for long explanation! But this is the part the dealer won't tell you if anything goes wrong with delivery.... As they need time to cover up. But you've had the heads up and know nothing should be wrong. Hope this helps.

it's not a problem sir, I encourage people to join this thread. I personally don't go that far, and can't say 100% our company do, but I can say you're car may come through Grimsby or sheerness. What's the specs of you're car? I'll have a check tomorrow and see if any cars are going that way and I can tell you off we go that way.

Yes real pleased with it, good camera work I say! Thanks again for your help. It's been in Grimsby for a week now so hope it's on its way tomorrow. Ideally would like it this weekend. It's frustrating how close it is yet so far. I had the daft thought you were the only delivery driver but assume that ain't true. Any day now fingers crossed!
