I've been on the internet and found that it's going to be pretty much impossible to find standardish looking but fibre glass panels without making them and the only possibility would be a wrc kit  but at £2299 it's a lot of money but all the parts are there so that is now on the list for when I can afford it :)

Yes you should remove that Clio engine for something that won't break down ;)

It's not too bad now just a leaking sunroof and knackered exhaust that I think is causing my low mpg

So you have to wear a coat and rain hat and breathing equipment each time you go out? ;) I remember the Renault sunroofs from the Renault 5GT days.... and don't even get started on the electrical systems.....

If it's in reverse and I've got my foot on the brake the rear fog warning light comes on :(

I'd have thought the performance gained from the weight loss would make this REALLY not worth it!

It depends as the front wings are fibre glass so could be used as is rear doors and the boot lid! But it may just be a total waste once I've cut down these doors!

Also I'd lose the sleeper looks :(

Thinking of keeping it road legal if at all possible as I've not really got much to tow it with and don't trust that Clio

I can't help but think

A fully stickered up 1.8T WRC it's probably only a thought as I can't afford it FOR NOW but I'd love to do it and get it 100% like those images! That'd get a few looks driving it to a track day ;) it's making me think about things

how about you get the mechanics done first then go down the avenue of doing the bodywork? :D

Got to agree with this, get it running and then alter it to how you'd like it to look. I'd personally go for the ultimate sleeper look but as you say a WRC car going around the track does look good.

That was the plan! Mechanicals first then anything else later :)

Right so the plans are : Strip the car

1.8T conversion

And finally dependant on funds at the end of the project a WRC kit

Now how do I change a title?

Hmm it seems I was mad from the start

Just gone and bought another vehicle :)

LOL what did you do this time? Not another Renault LOL?

No a vehicle to keep me going whilst or if I decide to get this renault good again

Don't do it... don't do it... There very few Renaults worth doing something to IMO. The Mk1 in the for sale section would get my vote to buy and go around reliably and something can be done with it. Hell I'm tempted to buy it and I've already got two cars. Again IMO the Mk1 Clios were better if you got a good one you were sorted, the latter ones I've never really got on well with. So I would off it now before it costs you too much and then keep this other one, providing costs don't mount up, to run around in till you get the 1.8T going. You can always look for something else of course. :)

 it's something a bit unexpected that I've bought and it's a derv

Ohhhh the mystery deepens! A friend of mine recommended me getting a Civic derv which with a chip was supposed to be tasty... just never took to the look of them... especially with them silly tail pipes.

Nope it's another vauxhall van :)

LOL should've said my work may be selling one of them soon. 1.3 or 1.7? Prefer the latter myself.
