A real mix bag here. Nothing really special or massively expensive and in no major order really, used by myself and wife.

Renaults: 4 (banana yellow and our first vehicle and then a second one in blue), 6 (blue old and barge like) and 5 (navy blue very basic and written off by wife in tussle with a tree and one of our family out cold for a short while but has since has become an architect) and silver 21 Savanna 2LRT – the best seven seater we had.

Fiat: Uno first NEW car we bought and not too bad.

Rover: Montegos estates: 1.6 green (engine failure on the way to a wedding) followed by a new 2L gti in BRG – the latter seven seater was not bad and could just about live with the massive number of Citreon BXs that were around at that time. Marina red 1.8L awful second hand car written off after some jerk shunted into the side of it in the middle of Sevenoaks High Street and luckily this was seen by the town Mayor and a trifling amount was paid out to wife.

Ford: Escort red XR3i for 18 months endless trips to garage not good example.

Toyota: Previa – fairly bullet proof against young kids and their mates. Hassle free for five years though massive automatic gearbox 2.4L barge to drive.

Peugeots: 205 TD silver and very nice when new back in the early 1990s and eventually scrapped. 307 TD silver Rapier model (bit boring). 306 Gti’s (x 3 in diablo red, white with sun roof and astor grey and also a Rallye cherry red. Cabriolet china blue. All very nice.

2000 VW Polo 1.0 - first car, did the job but 18 seconds to 60 says it all

2003 Ibiza TDI 130 - loved every minute of driving it but too many little niggling problems

2002 Bora TDI 130 - had so many creature comforts but alas, insurance wanted too much when renewal time came around

2005 Fabia VRS - ain't even driven it yet, still in the garage getting fixed... looks nice tho :D

First car was a Renault Clio MTV, bought new in 2000. I loved that car. And then it started going wrong - seriously wrong. After it failed the MOT for the third year running (in late 2006) and it was uneconomical to repair, I sold it for under a grand :'(

Currently I'm driving a smart ForTwo which is a lot of fun to drive, if a bit uncomfortable on longer journeys. It's not mine though.

Next car will be a Fabia Elegance DSG. Ordering next week and it'll be like waiting for Christmas as a child, the lead times are that long at the moment.

Not much for me to be honest.....

1984 Ford Fiesta 1.0L - Probably the worst brakes i've ever known on a car!!!!!

1991 Rover 214SLi - Fitted my own GTi spoiler onto this one.

1998 Rover 618iS Sport - Ex dealer demonstartor so was specced up big style.. Got it 15 months old from the dealer for just over a third of it's value when new!!!!!

2001 VW Polo GTi - Great little car but a mix of it having so much none standard kit compared to other polos and it being a Friday afternoon car meant it had over £2000 of warranty work done on it in the first year i had it!!!!!

2006 Fabia vRS - My first brand new car. Collected it in May 2006 and had it ever since.

And in a couple of weeks time the Fabia will be replaced by my next car...... 2004 Lexus IS300 Limited Edition.

There have been a few others that the wife has had since we met each other too.... They include a 2002 MG ZS 120+, 2003 Lexus IS200 Sport, 2005 Honda Civic Type-R and her current car a 2005 Fabia vRS.

Cheers

Dave.

Far too many for the 18 years I've been driving, not including the ones I've brought the misses over the years (shes never paid for one the cheeky woman) as it gets depressing looking at all the money I've spent on cars. Ones with * next to were company cars, I keep switching back and forth depending on my mood.

Learnt in a 1.0l Metro

Ford Escort Mexico Mark 2 - probably worth a fair bit now, was a total nail though, cardboard arches

Triumph Dolomite Sprint - first real attempt at modding, this had bigger carbs, wilder cams, and the full works on the suspension and bushes. Still regret selling this one

Ford Mondeo 1.8TD Mark I* - at least I think it was a 1.8, was quite quick for an early Ford diesel

Rover 416i - the latest shape one, one of only two cars I regret buying, got shot of it within 6 months

Seat Ibiza 16v Cupra - loved this one even if it is a bit slow in todays terms

Audi S3 - loved this even more, always felt it should have 300bhp as the chassis felt like it could take way more than the 230bhp remap took it too. Sold it for what I paid for it, although cost me a few services and tyres while I had it as I added 40k+

Pug 307 HDI DTurbo* - the second car I regret buying, only brought as we had the kids and the wife gave up work for a couple of years, cack in a can, spent more time in the garage than on my drive

Renault Grand Scenic 2.0L - can you tell this is the kids early years?

BMW 525d SE E61 - ex press car, had more options than you can shake a stick at, including, confusingly full sports spec (seats, suspension, etc.) applied to a SE. Seemed a very expensive way of making a SE into a Sport, still all that goodness cost me nowt. Came with full service pack and coupled with a remap made this into quite the bargain, only cost me £6k (what I lost from what I brought it for and what I sold it for) excluding fuel (which work paid for 80% of) for three years motoring.

Lexus 450h SEL* - loved this car but it went back when I changed jobs, plus its sub 37 mpg wouldn't have cut it with my new commute and no fuel card.

Skoda Fabia vRS mark 1 - where I am now, loving having a small car again, Misses is stuck with the big SUV now.
