I wanted a GPS Bike computer to use along with a Smart Phone. 

 I hit on this Garmin watch instead of a bike computer and it works great as it is on you and you can just have it on where ever on the bike or on your wrist.

Saving me getting out the Smart Phone to check miles done on the Electric Bike or Push Bike.

(i did a couple of times to see how the phone app i use and Specialized Mission Control were saying the same things.)

 

 

 

Oooh, I bought one of them too for cycling.  I spent quite a while looking before I bought it.  I wear it all the time, I normally get nearly a week out of the battery.  The fact it vibrates when I get a call is good as I can't hear my phone ringing when I'm outside.  The only downside is that I can't wear it when I'm climbing (bouldering).

New Digital Fridge Thermometers arrived in time for using on the bike in winter.  I superglue one to something on the handlebars.

Not worth putting in new batteries to ones that are out of energy in about a year as they are only 43 pence each on Amazon with free delivery from China.

You need to order 1 at a time for free postage though because if you order multiple then there is postage, so i ordered 2 single and they arrive in the one package.

86 pence total.

Mid October and just wonderful with frosty mornings then calm calm afternoons.  Following the rainy few days.

Air temp not into double figures though.

After over a week of pretty heavy rain and only doing 20 miles on a bike it is at last weather to get out again.

Windy and dry and so is the weather....   I might be gone a while.

 

EDIT, 

some miles in with avoiding some places and home in time before the rain starts again.

Cycling heaven when the roads are dry, almost devoid of traffic & not a cloud in the sky.

Pleasantly surprised to see a cyclist section! 

I have been road cycling for approximately five years, easily slinging my bike in the back of a Superb for the last three of them. I normally cycle around North Notts/Vale of Belvoir and when the weather gets too much I Zwift in the man cave!

Treated myself to this today. Not been riding much lately so my bike fitness is poor!

 

ignore the flipped stem, I’ve got shoulder and neck issues at the moment so have restricted flexibility.

indeed, fortunately it wasn't my only ride yesterday!

Clocking up some miles on the new steed. Rode a route I ride regularly and managed my 2nd fastest time on it, bike definitely feels faster and my fitness is returning. Beautiful day for it, shame the weekend and next week look wet. 

Really getting back into my off road riding, took a Trek fuel EX8 out for a demo as my old 29er was having issues, and have now reserved the ex demo model. Now I’m looking at a replacement Hardtail as my 29er is uneconomical to get up to scratch. 

 

My collection will be up to 6 bikes, hopefully the Mrs won’t notice!!??

I have a similar torch, (amongst others) only in blue surround. Curious if you use lithium battery?

I have a similar collection and on various bikes and in backpacks. £3.50 - £7 max from Amazon. & loads of 99 pence mounts.

I just use cheap batteries bought in bulk and there are usually ones kicking about in cars, packs, house etc.

@Skoffski If you use L-ion batteries 14500 are equivalent to AA, it gives the torch quite a good bit more power / brightness output, due to the 3.7volt, and the led's are perfectly fine with these.  Probably a longer run time too, even with the extra brightness

I use Trustfire ones and did quite a bit of research before purchasing as there was a lot of inferior batteries and chargers around at the time and of the 'fire' named ones only the Trustfire brand came to be reliably safe as far as reviews went.

Obviously only if you want more brightness, and you would need a charger tho i suspect you may already have one of these as you, like me, like your little gizmo's.

Of the slightly bigger torches i use the batteries out of my old laptop. 6x 18650's tho the torches only need one each.

The top one in my pic, the Aleto is my favourite for bike use. Think i paid a fiver and it is about as bright as a car headlight, no kidding.

You reminded me i had these, 1 on a bike & another 2 in a jiffy bag still.

The were 3 for £9.99 i remember with holders and rather neat.  Just fine as a 'i am here light'.

Treated myself to this Hardtail, first ride last night and I’m impressed. 

Picked up an x demo Trek fuel ex8, had done very little mileage and is pretty much mint. 

 

Takes me up to 6 bike, and in need of a bigger garage 

Was up in Loch Lomond this time last week, lots  of trails to ride round there!

I've been cycling to work since we moved a new yard further away from my house earlier this year. 

 

Been using my old Diamondback Topanga which I've had since I was 15. That's 20 years ago. It's served well and done many hundreds of miles. Probably thousands actually. It's being retired after one more week at work. 

 

I've ordered a new bike through my employers cycle to work scheme, a Voodoo Aizan 29er. Seems to fit my needs pretty well and a decent upgrade on my old bike. 

 

Its saving me from adding up to a 1000 miles on the clock on my Rapid per year. Improving my fitness level too.

Nice. I'm still on 26 inch wheels but with fat tyres

Anybody use speedplay pedals and can compare them to spd? The price is a bit off putting, but the greater/adjustable float is appealing with a dodgy knee.
