Roomster alloy wheels

Featured Replies

I have a 2010 1.4 Tdi 70 ps. It is fitted with the standard steel wheels. I have a set of Avior wheels to fit, but do I need anything else, apart from the appropriate bolts? I understand that fitting alloys sometimes needs spacers, or something. I would be grateful for any clarification on this.

I asked a similar question as I have Alloys and a steel spare. Dealer said the bolts are compatible with both on the Roomster.

Yep - O/E alloy wheels and steel spare are directly interchangeable using the same bolts and no spacers.

Proved during first month of ownership when I hit one of Birmingham's many potholes  :(

Many thanks to you both. That is probably why I couldn't track down a definitive answer. All I've got to do now is get the tyres swapped. I think I'll use the steels for winter tyres, Just got to find the cash.  :wonder:

I would personally get some locking wheel bolts

The questions concerning bolts have been answered, however you need to check whether your alloys are same (or close) offset (ET) as the steels to ensure there are no issues.

Put as simply as I can: the smaller the number preceeding the ET stamped on the rim the further out the face of the wheel sits towards the edge of the wheel arch.

For example, on my Roomster the standard Kentaur alloys have an offset of ET50. My winter wheels have an offset of ET42 and therefore poke out 8mm more than the standard fitment.

Pics below show standard alloys are somewhat 'tucked into' the arches when compared the the winter rims where the face is more or less flush with the bodywork.
