  • Sorry folks i've been really busy at work and family matters so haven't had much time to do much, anyway after owning the sporty for a couple of week i must say i love it, really good mpg for a wagon

  • Yep the Yeti folks don't like the slightest bit of criticism  aimed at the Yet no matter how well founded.

  • Fine, but if you post on a one make forum of one of the competitors don't expect everyone to faun at your feet.   There might be some fine reviews on YouTube, but there are also lots of complaints o

Early Media stuff said there would be a New Fabia 'Outdoor',

so that will be front wheel drive like 'some' Yeti Outdoor are.

We know that Skoda are firm in the belief that many buy Skoda models more for 'the look' rather than actual performance.

is the fabia scout not just a tarted up model with no real substance unlike the octavia scout?

Pretty much. Its extremely doubtful the mk3 fabia scout will get 4x4 IMO.

All well looking cool, but not much good if you genuinely need 4x4

Or even just the Part Time AWD as the Skodas are, not actually being 4x4's or permanent All Wheel drive.

No low box or the likes, but Offroad Selection buttons and packs if you pay the extra.

So the Yeti is a Softroader SUV's but without much interior or load carrying space.

(which is fine if that is all you need.)

But if you need any actual space a Skoda Estate with part time AWD might be more useful,

only there still is not much in the way of ground clearance.

Post No.78 was a press release from a fleet mag i get at work and the statement that surprised me the most from the article was this.....

"Kia and partner company Hyundai jointly top the 2014 KPMG Global Automotive Executive Survey when it comes to spotting global growth potential. The two Korean brands have risen from sixth place in 2013 to supplant Volkswagen in the number one position."

Mk3 Fabia scout?

You obviously didn't read the comment that I need it to be a 4x4!!

Plus the Fabia doesn't have an adequate towing capacity for our caravan

On another note the hyundai i35 is a great car as well IMO. It was the brilliant deal apart from all the obvious plus points that Kia done for me including a decent service deal that swung it towards Kia.

It also helped that my Skoda fabia sold itself without me having to say much and i was very happy with the trade in price, sad to see it go and somebody is going to get a cracker car. The Kia sales guy was so laid back and we both hit it off immediately not in a man love sort of way :nerd: but because i went in knowing how much i wanted for me fabia and also knowing the car i wanted to buy there was no time wasting or bull **** involved so he was happy enough as well ...Simples.

Once again thanks for all your responses even the negative ones.

Superb 4x4? ;).

Much, much, much too big!!

And I certainly wouldn't want to drive one of them through Radnor Forest!!

Been up there with a Land Rover and a trailer on the back, never again

If you look back to earlier in this thread you will see that I gave a set of parameters to meet my requirements, one of which was size. You might also notice that I gave a list of the vehicles I have looked at and test driven. So far there is only one other vehicle, other than the Yeti that meets my needs; that is the Freelander, which is about to be dropped from LR's model range. The only replacement appears to be the new Discovery Sport, which I looked at whilst at The Emergency Services Show, but it is much too big. If they bring out a shorter model I will look again.

The Superb is a fine car and I have a friend who has one, but it is far too big for what we require, being as there are only 2 of us, and I have limited parking outside my house, plus it would be totally unsuitable for the things I do.

It is good that there are choices and horses for courses.

A Yeti is good for many with its compact interior and exterior and higher height on the sills.

Once Skoda totally sort various Design & Quality control issue still with them,

even after a Second Generation is now available, they will really be worthy of some of the High Places they had on Consumer Magazines

and Motor Industry Surveys.

It has been disappointing that a vehicle had so long a build up to release then had so many snagging faults,

& that a Face Lift still did not resolve.

Vorsprung Durch Technik.

'None as blind as those that chose to not see,

so just keep punting them out while not too many complain'.

Just Quote the high places in Surveys where those that are happy and have the time to reply to.

PS

Can i say that in a General Chat section of a Skoda Forum.?

I know it can not be posted in a Yeti Section, as it is considered to be 'Off Topic' or Anti Yeti.

Are those 7 seaters?

With regards to the warranty, my neighbour is onto her 2nd one, she had some transmission issues when her's reached 2years old, she was given a new model whilst hers was being investigated but they couldn't find the fault so they signed over the new car to her, cant get better warranty than that.

I think this is proof that Skoda and VW sell all their Friday afternoon cars in Scotland (along with all the ex-rentals /ex-demonstrators that have been clocked and valeted).

There really can't be any other explanation for this person's views, as clearly the personal experiences of many of us Yeti owners (past and present) carry no sway.

Aren't the i35 and Sportage basically the same car?

Anyway, has your's broken down yet? Please tell us it has - everyone here is so desperate to flame you when/if it does  :giggle:

There are lots of Yetis on the roads in Scotland, and new ones, because the Scottish Customers do seem to pay more per head on cars.

I see the Paint Blistering threads, rust,  engine failures, standard Skoda stuff on many models,

and all the other ones of the same vane in the Yeti Section.

There are clearly issues, and a fair number,

but as is always said, people with car problems are liable to go to forums with them.

It is just that for so few Registered Yeti in the UK,

there are rather a lot reporting in with faults and problems.

It won't! :)

I quoted the wrong post  I meant to quote let us know when it breaks doen
