Another (different) Octy remote locking thread, sry guys :)

Featured Replies

Hi guys!

// after lurking, and hoping that I've read every single mk1 octy remote locking thread on briskoda, and not found the answer,I now wish to hear from you guys that have pre-facelift Mk1's.

Just a litte background, I recently bought a mk1 1.9 TDI 4x4. Both of the keys I got were "standard" keys (no flip/remote locking). AFigured I could just get the correct fob and move the transponder chip, I set about finding out which the corrcet model for my car would be. I ended up finding (via a briskoda thread) Key_Service on ebay, that after checking my vin number, informed me that the car did not support remote locking at all, which was sort of not what I was expecting.  // Thx for takink the time and helping me mate, appreciate it!

So my question to you guys that own pre-facelift mk1 Octys, do you have remote locking?

Is it just bad luck that I happened to get one that does not support it, or is it a querk of the 4x4 pre-facelift models?

Would be very interested to hear if anyone else has gotten this rather disappointing news...

thx in advande guys!

Hi

I have a 2002 Mk1 Octavia Elegance estate and mine has remote central locking and I managed to upgrade my two button remote's to three button remote's.

Thx for your input! As far as I've found, just about all the post-facelift models seem to support remotes, then again maybye I should have seen it coming, as I assume you got a remote for your car when purchasing it, and I only got two stock keys...  :p

what year is your Octy Enixion? all you would have to do is purchase & fit the correct part number module then get a new flip key & code the remote part to it. Then obviously swap your original transponder into it

Sorry for the super late reply :/  It's a 2000 (pre facelift).

That sounds very interesting, can you elaborate on that?/ link to a thread?

Thx so much for the reply, I had already given up on getting remote locking altogether, you give me new hope m8!

A 2000 Octy uses a 2 button 1j0959753n remote fob. The corresponding comfort module part number is 1j0959799ah.

Not 100% sure on the comfort module location on a 2000 reg but I know on other similar year VAG it's behind the right hand side of the dash next to fusebox. I have a photo of location on my laptop so will post it later.

You basically remove the lower dash trim. Then look up into the dash. 2 screws hold the module in place. So just remove them as well as the multiplugs then remove module.

That part number module is used in various early VAG such as mk4 Golf & mk1 Leon. So you may have to alter some coding with VAGCOM. The car the module came from may have been 2 door so coding needs altering as yours will be classed as 4 door.

Then all you do is get a remote & have it cut & coded. Job done
