Pics of the ONLY Mkii Octy vRS in the UK

Featured Replies

This little beauty was specially imported last thursday from the Czech Republic for display at the service park on Rally GB.

18 inch wheels are tasty.

Got to this.... http://newvrs.yafro.com

Was there sat all day, marshalled for four days and I am devastated at "Beef" Parks death.

Well? How does the front bumper look in the flesh?

IMHO not as good, go look?

I knew I seen it on the ITV coverage, see picture taken from my TV :D

How did nobody else spot it, its Yellow, how could you miss it.

It was shown just before the first brake.

If only they'd sell a few WRC fabias instead... :)

The front looks a bit featureless, but overall not too bad...

Very bland......nice interior though.........me no like :)

If I was to get a Furby - it would have to be WRC'd - A head turner.

I am not sure, it looks like a pointy nosed Bora, style wise perhaps a step backwards?

Fluff'

I think the Octy 2 looks like a Superb from the front, the grill looks too big,

Steve

I'm not convinced, don't think you can tell properly just from photos. Will have to wait to see one in the flesh before I make final judgement.

Steve

Oh, it's just so, so wrong. The rear bumper reflectors. The massive, ungainly grille. The crazy, climate-less spec. The totally unspecial spoiler. The manically tedious side profile.

And it could have been so special. A big :thumbdwn: from me, i'm afraid.

My point exactly.

Quite well put actually. Looking at the photos again, I agree with most of that. I was particularly confused by the rear reflectors - why are they there?!

Steve

So in conclusion, this is not a worthy succesor to the mk i reigning champion. Pity.

Just had another look at the photos. I reckon someone handy in photoshop could make that car into an A4 just by changing the front grille and the badge.

I'm sorry guys but are you suggesting the mk1 octy is a good looking car??

I really dont see it myself, it's all right angles and straight lines, really think they look dated now, and the protuding grille looks awful as it does on the Superb also.

At least the big grille on the octy2 is flush(ish) with the front of the car, I think overall the octy2 is a lot sleeker, more modern and far cleaner design than the mk1 - I like it

I'd agree with John.

All colour coded now which looks smooth (half of you colour code your Octavia MK1's now you dont have to). The rear reflectors are odd but are only stickers iirc, peel em off if there are reflectors in the rear light unit.

Looks good from the front, everything seems to fit and follow well with close shut lines etc.

18" wheels eh? Was rumoured to have 17's which I thought was a little odd.

I like it a lot, looks more modern

Why didnt they make it like this?, this concept looks sooo much better than the real thing.

Dont forget this is a LHD foreign spec vehicle. Hopefully the spec will be better for the UK cars, just like the mk1. Take Ireland octy mk1 for example, no climate or symphony stereo with 6 disc changer or 17" wheels although they got a armrest. We had all those but no armrest.

Will I buy one, well I might if it was possible to get the price down to 16.5k as I would want to add some extras.

Maybe they're saving it for a 'special edition' !

:thumbdwn:

not over impressed

did spot it on the tv coverage but had mind on other things after hearing about michael park

car looks far too bland but worst of all , with the otr price quoted by skoda as starting at

But remember it was the same with the Mk1 RS - you couldnt buy any extras for that until very late in its life, thats why the WRC edition was special, xenons, heated seats, rear parking sensors etc.. :)

I have to say, i like it.. at the end of a day, its a skoda.. its not meant to be a garish chavved out hot-hatch, its just as conservative as any othe VAG brand sports models.. (bar the RS4)

think you lot are missing the point

IMHO what we are looking for is subtle and reasonably priced :)

instead there is a danger of bland and overpriced :(
