  • Well I've finally collected my RS3.   So I thought I would share my initial thoughts and photos:-           Two RSs together:-   The car is really easy to drive as I was so nervous d

  • Not sure an M2 is ideal for the commute.  Or loading the family in. Also the 1 series can't have adaptive cruise, so not sure about the 2. Wanted something a bit more sensible as I have a quick week

  • Nah, leave him be, the 7R forums will eat him alive, at least here we know where he is and it beats care in the community

It's an RS Audi.

RS = premium price as halo car to the rest of the humdrum versions.

Audi = bugger all kit unless you pay 20-40% more than base spec, to make the residual values look artificially good as it doesn't include options.

I know, I was just expressing a mild sense of sadness that I might not be able to afford one lol.

Fairly subtle looking car isnt it.

Bit like the R, i dont think many road users would realise what it is.

The arches interface with cill differently to S3

The vid looks better than the stills

Haha was just about to post this link.

Gotta love the last paragraph in the article! Enough said really ;-)

Tom,

Thought of you when I posted it. Made your day !?

Tom,

Thought of you when I posted it. Made your day !?

Made me chuckle that's for sure. Nice to see them comparing the rather pricey Halo RS Audi to a lowly (vastly cheaper) M135i.

Saw the link originally on the M135i UK Facebook page. Quite a few people on there loving it haha.

The last bit makes perfect sense.

The RS3 is DSG only and probably going to be amazingly capable.

That doesn't automatically make it thrilling or fun.

The M135i is a nice 6 pot with rear drive, so it can entertain.

Money doesn't come into it.

We are not talking about performance, which can always be bought.

Rather that special thing that great cars have and good cars don't.

The RS3 will need to be thrilling and fun to get me out of the ST.

I wouldn't buy one just because it's faster and more capable because that means it's possibly less fun most of the time you are driving it, within the national speed limit.

You've echoed my thoughts exactly. It's the age-old notion of speed (and price) not necessarily equalling the most fun.

Makes you feel good knowing you are having a ball in a car you can afford with no need to spend more.

Some more helpful information?

http://www.evo.co.uk/audi/rs3/15170/audi-rs3-sportback-2015-preview-price-specifications-and-release-date

So if my memory serves me well,we have one member having had initial interest,(holding deposit) now potentially refrainng from purchase and one waiting for a test drive.

So members real interest not yet taken off.

Think the DSG only, may be off putting for some potential customers.

Interesting that Fords Marketing Team on the Focus RS, has made them go Manual only.(Perhaps they don't have a suitable auto option to hand?)

The price limits take off I would say lol

re post #86,

Ford have a very good Autobox for the Mustang 2.3 Ecoboost.

Automatics they can do where they want, but with the New RS Focus they maybe do not want 'Social Network' slagging

of an Automatic,  that Option might just be coming down the line.

I guess that's where I thought it would be, pricy lol

I'm worryingly liking it more and more

I'm worryingly liking it more and more

I'm worrying liking the Ford RS more and more... :D

Nothing wrong with that mate

Just  did the header sheet for Audi Models and noticed a Price from £45495 for the RS3 ?- Is that correct or is there an error on the New car page.

Though it was quoted at approx. £39500.

Doesn't say that on main audi page I was looking at so not sure

Click on New then look at drop down pictures .

I may well be wrong but under the picture of an RS3 is the figure quoted.

http://www.evo.co.uk/audi/rs3/15170/audi-rs3-sportback-2015-preview-price-specifications-video-and-more

Figure quoted in above Evo article is approx. £39000.

Just found the misleading  element - Picture is of an RS3 but price quoted is for a RSQ3.

Thought that was strange as I thought the price for the RS3 would be released via media and also on Website.
