Current Local dealership : Delivery gone out until October, they have 9 on Order. Note! strong instruction from HQ that No discounts being offered to Customers.(Unless you know otherwise-JD or others)

Initial Quotation for a basic spec, with 12000 miles /year usage contract, against a maximum deposit of £15 k ,36 month agreement = £182 / month.Optional Final payment £23100.

Estimate £24 per every £1k of extras, added to monthly rate.

So a little dabble on Configurator :http://configurator.audi.co.uk/entry?context=accx-uk:gb-en&audicode=AC3L0S75

That would add approx. £94 / month to payments = £276 / month and I guess an uplift in final payment.

  • Well I've finally collected my RS3.   So I thought I would share my initial thoughts and photos:-           Two RSs together:-   The car is really easy to drive as I was so nervous d

  • Not sure an M2 is ideal for the commute.  Or loading the family in. Also the 1 series can't have adaptive cruise, so not sure about the 2. Wanted something a bit more sensible as I have a quick week

  • Nah, leave him be, the 7R forums will eat him alive, at least here we know where he is and it beats care in the community

Based on max deposit of £15,000 ?

Not bad figures those. The MGFVs are very strong. If it's 9-10k list more than a golf R then not such good value as a cash buyer but if effectively renting on a PCP it's definitely worth a look :-)

Sepang Blue met £550

Matt black alloys £495

Comfort and sound pack £1,150

All in £42,190

The GFV's are as follows

3 years £25,500

4 years £23,500

APR 6.2%

Payments roughly

3years £560

4years £470

Deposit £4,000 (minimum typical 10%)

The basic way it is working out is for every £1000 in deposit reduce by £30pm or for every £1000 options add £30pm

All figures are rounded up or down just as a rough estimate for anybody interested.

Yep, hope the back reading helps, as I'm still waiting for min deposit quote on a Higher spec.

Ha getting tempted yet Keith? :)

Sampling, test drive in a few weeks. However, think it will be a R400 if the handling is same or better if possible than my R.

Probably will be cheaper and better VFM.

Wouldn't it be better to look at a comparitive PCP deal with a similar deposit to a Golf R?

So it's easy to compare figures.

It's always easy to make a PCP look "cheap" by just whacking a large deposit in that in reality you pretty much flush down the toilet.

Like to investigate all options linked with creative accounting etc.

I'm sure you know about things like that.

Update today was that delivery may slip into November ...allegedly.

Anyone else had confirmation on this - or what the issue on the slip is related to?

Slipped another month then, from what I was quoted.

I love this engine :) I spend a fair bit of time in the pervious model TT RS and think the engine is as charismatic as my straight six Beemers. it pulls like a train and has the famous Quattro wail in spades :) It's a bit understeery in the mkII TTRS but the car has a huge amount of grip so it covers ground at an indecent rate. If the A3 RS is an improvement in the handling stakes on the TT RS, then it should be a great car indeed.

I also love the big twin exhaust the RS cars have, they sound and look fab too

Just re-read my above post and see I referred to the TT RS as a PERVious model. I don't think that's quite what I meant. Although on some levels

No, maybe you can enlighten me if you have experience?

Simples, no problem. Just sack your accountant/financial controller and get a more switched on one.

Like Chris Moyles? who had down he was a second hand car dealer to get around tax etc & make a loss...............

Mind you in BossFox's case that would be telling the truth!................. :x ..... :p

Somewhat dammed with faint praise review in EVO this month, certainly a thoughtful piece on it.

Quite happy with mine.

Thought you were going to give me some more specific tips. :)

Always an interesting guy to listen to,for his enthusiastic reviews, George.

However, it is noticeable that he appears not to have picked up on some of the handling / progressing - driving negatives, that the UK car magazines journos outlined, in their initial reviews , on track , highway and country roads.

I always find journos opinions on the whole a waste of time. Nothing can beat personal review.

vrskeith,

Do you actually believe many of the UK Motoring Journalists about how they drive the cars on UK roads when really they are doing it at at less than half the available performance.?

As to track & launch control, that is neither here or there to most drivers that just either want a fast car, or to be the owner of a fast car,

and never go over 80 mph in the UK.

I prefer him being almost like a real driver and not a 'Driving God',

and i like how things get lost in Translation, Hinges for Hooks, (Golf R Estate Review) Bumpers for Wheel Arches etc.

He is enthusiastic and at least seems to read the Owners Manual, which being Audi, Skoda or VW are usually Lost in Translation

to English.

I like to think i drive a car more like him, than i ever will like Chris Harris.

That may be true but we do use their comments as a base guideline( if we respect any of their views), prior to our own getting behind the wheel.

Usually it is 6 months plus before we can get our hands on the hardware - to make up our own minds.

George,

If I and others had believed the views of this guy, we would have never bothered with a Golf R :http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/car-reviews/volkswagen/vw-golf-r-2014-review/

Guess some do some don't. I never read a single journos review on any of my last 3 cars

They usually have an agenda and also mainly review based on track comments and I don't track or drift my car
