BRISKODA National Trackday @ Rockingham

Featured Replies

Maybe a daft question, maybe not...

I'm doing the taster session.

Will there be a separate registration, briefing and noise testing, or with the full track day boys?

Here's the info that Octavia5 uncovered a couple of pages back

You should have got a confirmation Email from Rockingham but the times are

11.30 Access to briefing area

12.00 Registration starts

12.30 Driver briefing in Garage 35/36

13.00 3 laps following pace car followed by free track time

13.30 Track time ends

Caution!! the notes that came on the Email also state that all drivers must attend the safety briefing at 12.00??

They will want to see your driving licence - both parts, must wear a helmet and have arms and legs covered.

To film you need to complete a camera permission form at registration and camera must be securely fixed

If you can find your confirmation Email it will have copies of the pdf copies of the indemnity and camera forms attached, but they should have both at registration

Which of your cars are you taking on track?

Let's hope it's dry, not liking the rain today! ;-)

YetiKent, thanks for that.

I had read it ages ago in the topic but there have been several pages since.

I've got the confirmation and camera pages printed out and helmet in the car so I don't forget in the morning.

Embarrassing story about that!

I'm bringing the yeti.

The Citigospent spent the morning having new discs/pads fitted and the Octy keys have been hidden by SWMBO :(

How did your taster session go?

It looked like a fairly complicated track layout, cars seemed to spend a ridiculous amount of time negotiating the twisting infield section before appearing for a few seconds on the outer oval.

If it was just an oval it would be very boring :D

personally I like Rockingham.  Generally forgiving on the infield - Less so on the oval but then you doing 120+mph with just a concrete wall to your right :D

Richard came within inches of scraping the Yeti+++ down its complete offside around turn 1, when I was in the passenger seat.

I liked the track a lot. It was tight and twisty in the middle so you could have a bit of fun in the Fabia and slide it around while the turns kept the Caterhams off your a**e for a bit and it made the Fabia look quite quick.

I seemed to be going faster than anticipated. :D

Was getting up to around 135-140mph.

Anyway, we had a good three inches spare!

Not surprising since it seemed to hit the limiter in 4th just milliseconds after coming off the bend. :D

Here's some footage from the Brisk Rover :D

Photos from Rockingham's photographer are now online. Brisk Rover must've been out a lot as they've split the pics of it across two albums, the first called Blue Rover and the second just being called Dark Blue :Dhttp://www.motorsportinfocus.co.uk/Rockingham%2021.06.15/album/

Nice find - I knew there were trackside paparazzi somewhere!

My rather tame effort lol ;-)

That is a nice surprise Tom, thanks for that :)

I've obviously got some of you too from when you passed me.

Not got round to sorting it out yet, but when I do I'll post it up for you.

No problem mate, was good to see you. The yeti was going pretty well!

Would like to see the footage when you get time :-)

Yeah, I was pleased with how planted it felt.

Not quite up to the other one though, eh :D
