So, trying to plan some kind of 2020 event. Open to suggestions, have created a poll. No idea is off the table. Feel free to comment below, ask questions etc. Please don't fill the thread with "as long as it isn't X date" etc posts as these will be deleted. We will never be able to accommodate everyone's preferences but we will try and schedule around any major events etc!

Like the idea of a static meet with other attraction. Quite a few members seem to like aviation too, so a meet at dunsfold aero drome could be good

I’ve voted for “other attraction” although personally I’d love a trackside event.

but to make the event appeal to the most number of people, non-petrolheds also need to be accommodated. It’s a lot easier and more fun to bring wife/girlfriend/kids than go alone and being at “other attraction” would prevent them getting bored.

could maybe do with tying it into a country fair/steam fair/other similar event where there’s some shopping/craft stalls, maybe some animals, things going on in a display ring, and some static stuff of which the Briskoda gathering could be part of.

Other attraction would be good, maybe camping too

I've previously been to an Abarth event at Duxford, which worked quite well.

Thanks for everyone's input so far. Not many responses to the poll though 😞

I voted for static meet with a attraction, I it's few years ago but I enjoyed a Skoda meet at Imperial Air Museum at Duxford.

Whilst I enjoyed the meet at Rockinghan it seemed like 2 separate  meets, one on the track and one off the track.

Static other Attractions please. Unable to click to vote.

Old Warden might be of interest ?  as it has both old cars and aircraft also the main building and gardens and they do allow camping

My thoughts exactly. To be fair, the track day was quite expensive at Rockingham so I certainly didn't want to lose any track time by walking around a car park full of cars.

Blyton worked really well for a  track meet as it had a more central feel because you could walk around and socialise aswell as watch/take part in the track day without any seperation.

Going back to my MG days, meets were Wollaton Park .Stamford Hall,Hagley Hall etc.Concours held for those who wanted it.Some skill trials through cones etc.

Not sure if you'll get the same following today, but good on ya for trying.....

So we're looking for a venue with a museum and some space to have movement, be that skills trials ( needs marshaling/insurance ) and, or, track in sprint mode or open format.

^ East Kirkby is most definitely a shout, I do a lot of stuff with retired Military Aircraft outside of work, so could ask a few people, and see if I can get a favour to get a venue and an ex RAF F4 Phantom rolled out for some photos?

Thanks all. I'm not sure on previous attendance so need to make sure there is enough space for everyone. I'm leaning towards the popular choice of a static meet with a museum or something so just need to look into venues. Some good suggestions from everyone!

Any more?

Voted for "Static meet with other attraction" but to be honest anything will be good and i'm grateful for the efforts folks put into organising these events.

How about the British motor museum in Gaydon, other car groups have had meets there.

There was a Briskoda meet there a few years ago,  The highlight of the meet was when most of the Yeti's got stuck on wet grass......................

That was good, it was quite wet ground IIRC...

We've been back there twice since, or is it three times. I forget.

As mentioned before, I am very happy to fund and promote, I just can't commit the time to organising it as I'm still oversubscribed on work.

I haven't forgotten this, and will spend some time looking at options this week, and liase with Colin.

(Un)fortunately I've just become unemployed so this will give me something to focus on other than finding a new job!

It would be nice if this were to happen during the summer. It would help pull the members together -any news ,if and when its likely???

I'm working on something. It's a bit tricky on the basis as no date will please everyone. Likewise any location won't please everyone.

I've got a couple of ideas I'm looking into. I'll post an update in the new year, once I've got something a bit more settled and spoken with all relevant parties.
