My car will most likely be on the road. but just be in no fit state to track.  I also have no idea what I need until the car is pulled apart really.

I collect the mongrel tomorrow afternoon and I will simply have to test it and keep an eye on it, and go from there.

Well, its official, my spot now goes over to the mad Roomster owner, Mr 5ive!     I hope to get lots of passenger rides in various vehicles still though.  Whilst the mongrel is out of action, I still need my fix.

Trackday updates:

 

There are approx 10 slots left on the full day, don't forget we're ona  reduced rate, so it's a good reason to grab a day, or tell your mates to do so.

 

Passenger laps:

You need to sign a disclaimer/indemnity and get a wrist band. This will be possible under normal trackday rules. I believe Will and the Rockingham crew will be in garage #35. From the outer paddock there is a access road to the inner areas where the track action is taking place. I was hoping to have a new superb to do the shuttle runs... arh hope it's a wonderful thing.

 

Helmets, They do have spare helmets to hire. But the setup is for a per day rental, so we're talking about a passenger lap usage model, but it's Rockinghams call, not mine. Helmet hire is £20 for the day with DLic deposit too. So please I think we'll have enough between us all, but if you have a spare lid, bring it, mark it too so you know it's yours.

 

The taster sessions are 13:00:13:30 which means the main sessions end at 13:00 and begin at 14:00. To take advantage of this break, the meets comp's and group photo are trying to fit in to that 13:30 to 14:00 window. I'm not planning on running around the venue of rockingham telling everyone this... Blyton was a good training day and I've got a sore leg this year.

You should have got a confirmation Email from Rockingham but the times are

 

11.30 Access to briefing area

12.00 Registration starts

12.30 Driver briefing in Garage 35/36

13.00 3 laps following pace car followed by free track time

13.30 Track time ends

 

Caution!! the notes that came on the Email also state that all drivers must attend the safety briefing at 12.00??

 

They will want to see your driving licence - both parts, must wear a helmet and have arms and legs covered.

 

To film you need to complete a camera permission form at registration and camera must be securely fixed

 

If you can find your confirmation Email it will have copies of the pdf copies of the indemnity and camera forms attached, but they should have both at registration

They shouldn't want both parts of your licence now... the paper part is dead.




I'll be at the National, but won't be on track. Will bring my helmet and get some passenger rides.

I would take it though as the new procedure for companies to check your points requires a special access code you have to get from the DVLA to give to the company and they have to have online access to the DVLA to complete the check - I doubt Rockingham are up to speed yet.

 

Better to have it than being refused a drive

They had my license during the swap over, so no paper counterpart for me.
