Andy - XBOX on a 32" screen with surround sound is very good :) Still think Halo would be better if I could hook up a mouse somewhere though :D

Possibly, hover based crafts...

and yes halo, grrr takes a while to get used to, I suspect it will be to easy on the PC, although the tough/cloaked ones will always give you a good slap, I never want to drive those flyers in Halo ever ever again, although it's good fun seeing how far you can drive one into a base :D

GP3...ummm :D sounds like the one maybe.

sounds ****ing cool... i will go and get a copy... guess its designed for pimpin' gun toting RS owners and Des.:D

It's a game, for goodness' sake- I can't seriously believe that anyone would take it to heart.

And some of the voices are recognisable- Ray Liotta ('Ever since I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster') for one

like the octy can we get a red RS version with black wheels?

is there an editor?

Wot no Fabias?

If we were to ring customer services, do you think they'd be able to answer the "what games feature skodas?" question... :D

Adults maybe, but juvenilles no.

I am no prude, but I refuse to allow my girls (13 1/2 and 9 1/2) to play such violent and sexist crap.

I am dissapointed that my view is not shared by other parents either.

And we wonder where society is going.

Andy

I like GT3 on the PS2 . also GTA Vice City (not for the killing and stuff , but for the FANTASTIC 80's soundtrack!!!!) I also remember Chequered Flag on the old rubber keyed Spectrum with fondness!

GT3 , but really looking forward to GT4 - will be intersting to see how moddable the Octavia is :D

Putt-Putt Enters the Race. It may be for 3-6 years old, but it can be damn tricky to get to the race.

PS My 5 year old grandson prefers GTA Vice City - or would do if it wasn't rated 18. rolleyes.gif

GTA Vice City is pure fun!

When I had my dreamcast I was addicted to MSR and when I had a PSX I was addicted to GT, GT2 and ToCA 2. Did anyone cheat and get tracks like Loch Ranoch and race the cars like XJ220s?

Oh where to start.....

On the PS2 :

Gran Turismo 1,2 & 3 -- can't wait for 4 :D

Grand Theft Auto Vice City - it's good, but better on PC

WRC -- rallying came -- with the Octavia WRC :D :D

CMR 3 -- good,but I prefer WRC

On the PC

Grand Prix 3

Grand Prix 4 - very,very good

F1 1999-2002 -- Very close to GP4

Grand Prix Legends -- Fantastic,if Difficult -- Runs OK on my Athlon XP 2700 @ 2.25mhz

Nascar Racing 2003 -- the mut's nutz -- with a luurverly V8 sound !

Toca Race Driver -- Ok'ish -- got bored after a while, quite like blasting around Oulton Park tho

Grand Theft Auto - Vice City -- Yes it's very, very violent & sexist -- but it is only a game,if you remember that you can't go wrong -- just cos you can mame & kill in a game - doesn't mean you should in real life -- I think it is part of growing up to learn the difference -- but then again I don't have children of my own - I would probably have different viewpoint if I did!

Starsky & Hutch -- very naff - but quite good fun in short bursts

Fave game on the original playstaion was GT. Best car for me was the Viper Team Oreca race car.

The realism and feel you got from the game was amazing. Never really tried the later versions, but i really did spend hours and hours playing that game! Very very addictive.

All the the Gran Turismo games on PS and PS2. Rallying is great fun. MotoGP 3 is a great bike game. Loads of fun doing Rossi-esque powerslides whilst beating all comers! :D GT4 is going to be interesting when it finally comes out.

Most of my gaming collection involves cars, bikes or football!

Have to say on a final note that F1 games on PS2 are getting a bit boring. Can't beat GP4on PC for that! ;)

Yup my entire collection is either drive-it - shoot-it or fly-it :D

I spend far too much money / time / effort on my PC -- like spending nearly 5 straight hours recently on nascar - perfecting a lap of Watkins Glen -- only to shave off a whole 600ths of a second!!!!!

Ah ha! A thread I can really get my teeth into.

On the X-box

Colin McRae 3. For just driving it's great.

Sega GT 2003: About a mile from the GT3 target it set it's sights on but still pretty good.

Project Gotham Racing: Good fun, addictive challenges. Can't wait to hare around Edinburgh in the sequal.

On the GameCube:

Burnout 2. A game which encourages you to cause as much damage as possible. Cool.

On the PS2:

GT3. Utterly supreme (apart from the on-rails AI of course)

WRC Extreme 2: You get to drive an Octavia. Which I do every day on the way to work. Except you drive at 120 mph and off-road, which I don't do on the way to work (except last thursday).

On the PC:

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City: Not really driving but great.

Toca Race Driver: Disappointing.

Somebody stop me from buying consoles!

All great games. Got Burnout 2 on the PS2. The only reason I don't own a gamecube is the lack of good driving games! ;)

Must start spending less money on games and more on the car! :D

Think newly installed SWMBO will soon put paid to any more purchases in the PC front.....

I have trans am on the spectrum.

Gran turismo3 on the ps2 is still the ultimate driving simulator. Still play it alot even though the game is getting on now. Cant wait till no.4 comes out at christmas the list of cars its rumoured to have is massive. Will be awesome with a yellow octavia vrs! Lets just hope it is actually in the game.

As for midnight club 2, christ almightly that is a stunning and highly addictive game. When that came out i stayed in for ages playing it, smoking blunts and generally feeling like a badass.

Gran Turismo is the daddy -- full stop -- in any guise, although obviously no 3 is the best so far -- my personal fave thing is to get a car -- run it o the test track till I get a decent time -- then mod it and watch the speed rise & the times drop !!!

Understood, Andy- but I have made it clear to my kids that it is ESCAPISM, pure and simple. They know it's not ok to beat people up, that you can't shoot people and that you respecvt the Police. It's the sheer upside-down attitude of the thing plus (as has been said) the fabulous music- it got my daughter into Squeeze, which can't be a bad thing!

I agree it's sexist and violent, but then so is real life, sadly. At least GTA VC is tongue-in-cheek and I think it actually pokes fun at the gangsta lifestyle.

that you can't shoot people and that you respecvt the Police

The moon is made of cheese and the earth is flat

An appropriate thread for an advert:

See Sig....

Skodaw - come joins us...

N2003 now has Busch League and Trucks mods released, a host of new tracks (some that aren't even oval!!) with a Trans-Am mod iminent!

We had a very poor race last weekend - 25 yellows, lots of temper tantrums! Good turnout of 26 drivers, tho, and we're gonna crack down on any stupid driving pretty hard now...

Regards,

Mark

Well... in THEORY, you respect them. They have years ahead to realise that the Police are generally a bunch of f***socks. I don't want to shatter their illusions too soon.
