  • And I've gone right off the RS3 idea. £40k plus for a car that#'s slower than my Yeti and has an automatic box...

  • I'd have one in a heartbeat if I had the money

  • Be it 'chav' or not. This and it's 400 ponies bring a smile to my face. The more I've seen of the mk3 the more I've come around to it. Purely for its driving characteristics. My local ford don't

Childlike and Privately educated, from wealthy background, helps you get on in life and in the City.

They pick up the occasional working class car so that they can seem normal?

Both twunts.

Neighbours RS goes in to the dealer this week for 'the fix'.  They want/need the car for a whole 5 days; he wasn't very happy about it when I was speaking to him yesterday.  He's already arguing to have some level of compensation in the shape of a 'more than fair buy back' from the supplying dealer.

It's obviously affecting him as he's on about getting a Range Rover next

Atleast ford are owning up and fixing it.

Pre July 2017 car ,he can enjoy the additional depreciation. Private sale , then it might mean he will be giving it way -relatively speaking.

Ford never truly owned up to the real faults , just  sort of came up with a sort of  fix solution for runout of production.  (keep an eye on the warranty cost over the 5 years cover).  A bit like Skoda / VW did for the Fabia vRS MK2 / Polo GTI 1.4 / Seat 1.4 twinchargers

Hmm dno. He made £2k on the one he had before. Just bought it right, toyed with it for abit n sold it.

Just hope the fix words for effected cars. Problem with the twinchargers was that their wasnt really a fix. Even with an engine replacement, you might of got another lemon

@ 2 Minites.  "Mountune parts from factory',   then later "it is dealer fit package that goes onto the cars before delivery" @5.53.

Make your bl00dy mind up!,    which parts were Mountune that were put on at the factory?

So Shmee 150 has got this coming also.

Is he the YouTube's Euro Ford promotion man, with his RS's MK3, which enable him to get a top listing for this.

Not so sure myself.  I think it looks very much like a 1.0 Ecoboost ST Line.

Ford have owned up to the faults.

They have started a recall which consists of a pressure test.

Pass and you get a new head gasket.

Fail and you get a new head as well.

The RS still has better residuals than pretty much most of the cars in it's class, so not sure where you are going with the "enjoy the additional depreciation" comment.

A two year old one that was £30k new will still be worth around £22k trade in.  That's less than a third lost in two years including the hit from trading in.

Spend £30k on a Golf or Skoda and see what it's worth in two years with 30k on the clock.  Not £22k that's for sure, most likely you can "enjoy" another £3000 to £4000 depreciation on those.

A two year one that was £30,000 new might well be worth £22,000 trading in, but is that what people are getting as Ford Main Dealers are 'Asking under £24,000' for them and you can get them for less than that.

True depreciation is what they would buy one back for, not take in as a trade in.

Boss,

All the best when you eventually  trade-in ,one or both of your RS's but feel sure you will maximise your 5year warranty first. Each to one's own I guess.

It needs somebody that works with Ford or at Ford Dealerships to say what the demand is like on 2 year old pre loved Focus RS and if the are getting snapped up at around £24,000 plus asking prices.

If they sell well then prices might stay high, there will be plenty cars, never raced or rallied around.

The end of the line for the Ford Focus RSmk3 (2016 -2018) with the Limited (50) @ £40k plus collectors  Heritage Edition.

Is this the car it should have been from day one of launch?

'Heritage' is fine as that harks back just to the colour, but 'Evolution' would have been more like it but obviously another company with Motorsport Heritage and success with AWD cars already used that.
