So Fezza is now about a 1 1/2 weeks further on with his RS ISSUES. Dealership /technician / Ford CS.

As of this afternoon his reply to me on his car's status  and his knowledge of faults.

Fezza, So here you are , a week plus on and it would, from the outside appear that your dealership / Ford are dragging their bloody feet. Are you any further forward or clearer to your RS's status / mechanical health?

Justin, That's bloody poor performance for you mate. Hope you get a permanent  solution very soon which enables you to have continued faith in your RS and therefore ongoing enjoyment. Cheers. Keith

So Ford Customer Services in Spain have a new policy if your car blows an engine inside warranty, you can go an whistle for a loan car, free of charge.

Focus RS Engine issues.Back in February 2016 to April 2016 delays when their cars were stopped for shipment.

This internal document has been obtained: now suggests that the checks that were undertaken at the time were not full proof, hence now a year later a % of engines are now suffering with cracked engine blocks. So how many units were being built per week at that time  2 months worth of production suspect and Ford were under increasing pressure to deliver cars to European Dealerships and the USA. So what confidence /rectification improvement were made to negate an onging component failures. Ford presumably have placated the Authorities so as not to require a total Recall.

There is no truth in the rumour that Fezza's Focus RS is Dead.

In fact, just in time for Easter Week, the Blue Oval have created a Miracle and it will be Resurrected in Spain next week, subject to the Dealership giving 100% CS! LOL

One for Fezza's Bucket List ,when New motor is Run-in of course.

Is this another Focus RS destined for the Replacement New Engine Scenario: This one in Canada:

Interesting reading the associated vlog text from other RS owners who are getting edgy, even with 3 -5 year warranty.

Fezza,

Invested in a £500 plus lowering kit, too much improve the seating height for the option pack Recaro Shell bucket seats.

Shame Ford didn't get it right first time, perhaps that is where the original cost were kept down, along with several other areas..

This fix may be possible for those with the standard issue seats.

So the Escort Van does the business over a Focus RS on a Castle Coombe track day.

Investigation required -WTF

Is it down to driving skill and ability

17 posts on the trot without anyone bothering to reply?

That's deeply impressive, for one reason or another.

Early RS had a manufacturing defect in block, Ford are changing engines with no questions asked.

My 16 plate broke the engine while on the Silverstone GP Circuit.

It went to Ford, they looked, ordered an engine and 4 days later it was good to go.

Still finding the RS the best balance of fun, practicality and all weather grip I've come across at a sensible(ish) price.

More playful than any Haldex car that's for sure, even if not faster than some of them.

BossFox,

I personally it doesn't bother about replies as I know that people are visiting and indeed PM'g me . It's meant to be informative for those that like to keep up to date with cars overtime and real experiences of owners /ownership, for the Briskoda readership / members.

Glad you continue enjoying your RS mk3 experience - did you take delivery of your 2nd?

Glad that your experience of Ford's UK CS with your 4 day turnaround for the new engine,as I sure you know of Fezza's? Justin  much YouTubed experience in Spain.

4 weeks off the road and bugger all real CS from Ford Spain / Europe CS.

Similar experience of "Total Focus " in Canada, with his car off the road for 5 weeks may be returned to him today .

Was your  original engine replacement, pre or post Mountune upgrade. How many miles had you covered from new and was the emphasis on track use or day to day business/family.

Were you issued with a new engine number / update to your Vin records by Ford?

Did they make an entry in your service manual ,noting engine replacement

I note Fezza has mentioned that his replacement appears more powerful ,what was your initial impression after replacement?

Interesting owners comment from the attached review / article.

Sold my Mountune FRS - it's not anywhere as exciting or as good as the reviewer suggests. Whilst I agree it's more engaging than most other hatches on the market right now (bar perhaps the rather marmite looking CTR), the seats AREN'T comfortable on long journeys, the ride is a little jarring long distance too and in race mode it's as bad as the FK2 Civic. Add to this the tendency to veer off to one side suddenly at 70mph, drive selection mode failures due to exhaust flaps sticking, cracked engine blocks, a fragile open deck engine design (limits tuning), and the fact it runs out of puff too early in the rev range and all of a sudden you realise that you could buy a second hand performance car that will give you a lot more for the same money. That's why I sold my Mountune'd car and is doubtless the same reason that the second hand market is becoming flooded with examples that have done 5000 miles or less."

Just hope the cylinder head and block can handle what Mountune can throw at them. Must be for post 2016 model .

This is interesting , from a Focus RS mk3 owner. He is also a Ford Employee involved with the car's Development programme and now at a senior  quality engineering level.

Another RS ticking time bomb, sooner rather than later.

Continued problems with Total Focus's RS mk3. Had been getting very poor CS from Ford Canada on the global car.

Now British guy in Canada, now routed his problems via Ford UK director.
