New Fabia manual downloads show Radio options as Amundsen/Bolero and Smartlink. My dealer still thinks its a software upgrade.

From where did you download this manual?

  • I have sent an email to Which about this see if they can add some clout. Might be worth trying whatcar as well as it is their car of the year and all that.

  • You know what... You're right Ollie. The Fabia is a fantastic car nevertheless and I'm going to put this aggression/frustration aside and look forward to it! My car is being built as we speak! Yes I'

What page is it on? I can't see anything relating to Amundsen.

Underneath the car manual download is the car radio download (navigation system download) and is marked Amundsen/Bolero.

I will be very surprised if it is not only firmware update!

Me too, but I live in hope!   :wall:

My car was built last Monday, hoping it has smartlink! :-D

Whats  a UBS port?   :D

Perhaps Amundsen has multiple USB ports?

Just be glad it's not IBS.

Note that on the manuals download page there are different manuals (for both the car and the infotainment) depending on what you choose as "Your car production period": "Since 2014/10" or "Since 2015/05". As my car was due to be built last week I'm hoping it squeaks into the latter!

I found something that might be useful about Apple CarPlay,if you have a pioneer avic-F960 it will works with a firmware update. Hope for the same with bolero, i found this on a norwegian Apple Page do

Got answers from the skoda Facebook Page

if your Fabia was produced before calendar week 22, it will not have Apple CarPlay for it is not just a matter of firmware, but also additional hardware modification. Kind regards ŠKODA

What the?! This is not fair. Mine gets built next week (20) and I'm just going to miss the boat?!

It would be good to understand what this hardware is and see if dealers can arrange for it to be installed?

I have to agree, very unfair, those of us that have just taken delivery of our new Skoda are left with equipment that is basically useless in our new cars. it maybe ok for some that can afford to buy new phones, but many of us have stretched to the limit just to buy the car alone!!

I spoke with my dealer here in Norway, he will talk with Skoda Norway about what to do with us who alredy have the car, Hoping for answers!
