I think this car is going to tick a lot of boxes and be a bit of a winner myself, it's all looking like 2002 again when the original Superb was launched, looks like a Passat, drives like a Passat, cheaper than a Passat better than a Passat.

It wouldn't be too bad if it was! I like the headlight design - looking closer and I can see the LED section on the inner housing.  The cylindrical part on the outer looked like xenon but I think they may actually contain LED.  The Passat lights are designed in a similar way actually.  Hopefully they will be showing some full LEDs when they reveal it next week!

A little bit of wee just came out.

great attention to detail :)

We've also learned that Skoda plans to drop the first ever all-new Superb video teaser on us next week on Monday, February 16, a day before the full reveal. Which means that we'll probably still have to wait for the next day in order to see the car in all its glory. That's why they're called teasers.

Hmm, I'm not so sure, take a look at the headlight design on the MkIII Octavia fitted with bi-xenon's.

The bulk of the headlight is redundant, the inner section where you'd expect the main beam bulb to be is just a square reflective piece of plastic, dipped headlights and main beam are all performed by the outer projector, the halogen main beam flash function (as on the current MkII) has been done away with.

The DRL's are an LED tube as with the MkIII Octavia running along the lower edge of the headlight.

There doesn't seem to be much room for the indicators next to the projector, so these might be LED strips?

The lack of full LED headlights is supported by the inclusion of normal front fog lights down in the lower bumper. Cars with full LED headlights often don't have fog lights as the LED's are capable of altering their beam pattern for use in fog. This is at least the case with some top-end Audi's. Looking at the latest Leon with LED headlights these appear to still have front fogs.

Full LED headlights on the MkIII Superb would be nice!

Good point about the fogs, I didn't spot them and it would be unlikely to have fogs plus LEDs as in the A6 and A8 etc with LED and matrix. It's probably still a mock up image hopefully and fingers crossed for full LEDs on elegance up at least

A little bit more wee just came out. They look like at least "semi-full" LED headlights to me, with cornering lights in the headlamp housing in the inner-most section (x-marked). Very similar to the Merc cls lights. The lower fogs may be a cosmetic thing, or perhaps these are shown for lower spec cars with either non-LED or partial-LED headlights.

Fibre optic light tube looks to make up an angular LED DRL bounding the bottom and outer-edge of the headlamp housing (similar to the latest Seat models). Indicators probably by changing the colour of the LED in the fibre optic tube, which then suggests that all of the trim range may get it.

Hope they release the estate too

I am sure that at least for Geneva they will.

Estate is very important for European sales.

Seen a few demo/test cars on the motor way near to me, i have to say not overly impressed with the design, looks like a Mondeo more than anything..... time will tell how it gets dressed up through the versions, the two i have seen were all black no chrome and a very dirty looking red.

Lights are definetely the main feature on it for me. From what i have seen.

I like the design lines. Hard to tell on the headlights yet. I see what you mean about the Mondeo

I hope they don't sell Superb's with a rear wiper especially in the UK! Although it may be very functional, it will really look hideous  :peek:

I'm just nervous whether they would have a strategy similar to the Octavia's in the UK where they are sold with a rear wiper unlike some of the other markets.

The wing mirrors could have been better in my opinion and not same as the current Octavia. All of Superb's competitors (Mondeo / Mazda 6 and also Passat) have flag mounted mirrors which improves forward visibility (between A pillar & wing mirror) significantly. On the positive side, rear visibility in SIII should be better than SII

Why would you want to drive a hatchback without a rear washwipe? The lack of one is the worst features of my current Superb, albeit understandable 'cos of the way the twin-door has to work.

As for the "hideous asthetics" of a wiper blade, you cannot be serious?

I'm with Joeboy on the wiper. I know it's practical but on a car pitched at the higher end of the mid-sector (and trying to fight its way with some of the premium brands), the wiper takes from the sophisticated design that Skoda are trying to achieve IMO. In other words it makes the car less desirable and less premium if the wiper is included. I know some will totally disagree on that and argue ' function over form'!

VAG will not be pitching this car as premium, that will be the role of the Passat saloon and A4. Superb 3 hatch is Mondeo/Insignia basher and Skoda are pitching this at company drivers in that sector. Just take a look at the increase in company drivers of O3, Skoda want to compete with the volume manufacturers, not premium brands.

I am one of those new company car drivers.

Audi, BMW, Mercedes and VW just can't compete when it comes to value for money.

With the budget I had and wanting to keep my P11D as low as possible the Superb was really the only choice.

I just ordered an L&K estate in magnetic brown with the ivory leather.  The only option above the standard spec I really wanted was the auto boot closer.

I wish I could have hung on until the Superb III was available but sadly I can't.

New one won't be unveiled until this evening.

I wish it would hurry up already. I keep putting searches in on Google.

Anyone have any idea where the information is likely to be hosted first?
