Debut on 17 February?

Page 33/34 gives the full CO2 figures. 105 and 106 are best figures for the two higher rated Diesel engines.

Thank you for the English conversion.

I could not understand how a high power unit like the heated windscreen could be an induction powered supply until I read it was just a thin film and not wires in the screen.

150 BHP at 105g/km will suit me nicely.

Pictures are the ones leaked some time ago so no real surprises. Can't wait to see one in the flesh.

Like this. The 280bhp petrol with 4wd would be my choice...however I'm not sure we will get it in the UK. Sales of the 3.6 have been very low.

I also can't imagine its going to be cheap. If they are going after insignia buyers then that's a competitor to the VXR which is around 30k.

According to Autocar the two petrol engines coming to the UK will be the 150BHP 1.4TSI-ACT, and the 280BHP 2.0TSI.

A few of my thoughts after (very quickly) glancing through that document:

The exterior lines are much nicer than the VW and considering Skoda is VAG's 'budget brand' they are quite impressive and not an afterthought.  We will just have to touch and feel the interior 'in the flesh' to access the true quality.

A lot of detail mentioned about individual models and specs.  Nice to see that the L&K will be available from launch.  Shame about the lack of LEDs as bi-xenons are mentioned for even the L&K model.  At least smart light assist and dynamic range/masked beam is mentioned.  They appear to be pushing some items currently offered as standard to options on the new model which is not surprising as they will probably try to maintain current prices but lower the spec offering (?).   I'm a bit concerned that the options list may become quite long on this new model and similar to an Audi before you have a decent spec car!

Some nice practical touches though for storage and the inclusion of wifi is good.  A lot of improvement in the sound systems too with 12 speakers and sub-woofer with the Canton system. The Bolero is mentioned for the L&K though?!

They certainly haven't held back on safety but then again a lot of it is pretty standard now anyway.  Fuel consumption is ambitious and very theoretical to say the least across all models, as usual!  There are a few areas which are clearly not new and they appear to be selling them as new innovations but most of the technology at this stage is taken from the VAG parts bin, which isn't necessarily a bad thing as it has already been proven.

The 190bhp TDI should be a fine machine and well proven in the A6 etc by the time it hits the road on the new Superb.  The petrol engines look tempting!

Don't fancy the ride on those 19" wheels though!

Very comprehensive document and all the relevant information available about the model seems to be captured here.  I agree with Coops, pin this one!

Any thoughts on where the pricepoint will be relative to older model?

There isn't much room for an upward movement as it starts to become very price sensitive then.  At the upper end the gap becomes very narrow between a slightly lower spec A6 and a slightly higher spec Superb.  I think any changes will be minimal and will depend on local vehicles taxes of course!  Personally, I believe it will be more a case of masking a price increase by tapering the spec levels and pushing more as options, but I could be wrong

Whilst I like the look, I am very disappointed that the 4wd diesel and petrol models are DSG only. Skoda just lost a potential sale because of this. The same is true of all VAG cars of a similar size with the exception of the current A4 but who knows when the new A4 comes in.

I know I am in the minority, but why won't they build manual 4wd cars any more?

Edit: I meant to say higher powered diesels an petrols. For example the Octavia scout in 184ps is DSG only in UK

We might be slightly biased on this forum, but heck park that next to a new Passat and I know which one I'd rather have. The Superb by a LONG shot.

I wonder how Superb Combi will look like, because Passat Variant looks awful to my eye. They lost proportions somewhere...

I'm in, I really fancy that having seen it now.

It will be interesting as there was 10%+ on the new Octavia when it came out.  I don't think they have that much to play with v. A6, Passat etc.

When will these actually go on sale?
I am due to change my car in August but I think I am going to miss out on one of these :(

I read June somewhere but don't know which countries that applies to.

Pretty sure it says a few months after Geneva which is March so June is possible.

Very nice indeed but again no LED indicators which is a shame really. I know most people don't care about that but it does makes a big difference IMHO. *Sigh*

That is one fine looking car, dare I say posh!!!

Well Skoda Ireland on their twitter said it would be available from the 152 plate on, which due to our stupid license plates means July.

Indicators are LED according to the press pack. I hope that has made your day?

You mean for collection on a 152 or to order from 152?
