That doesn't sound great. I've not found customer services to be particularly great so far in my experience with Skoda! But hopefully your issue gets resolved!

I sent Skoda a long message recently telling them I wasn't happy with my garage, I wasn't really expecting a reply but it would have been nice to receive one just so I knew they'd acknowledged me, still haven't heard anything

P.s don't forget about me wanting your springs :peek:

I haven't forgotten yet, don't worry. :D

There's a good lad, keep us updated with the happenings of your ride :)

You don't have to wait for a courtesy car to become available from the dealer. Just phone SUK for one as I did. Instead waiting for a two week wait they gave me on the next day [emoji16]

I've found SUK to be extremely helpful with my case. The best so far. VWFS is a different story [emoji19]

... but my closest Skoda garage is over 30 miles away...

... The driving itself takes 45-50 minutes each way..

Where are you?  Your location states Falkirk - is this right?  If it is, you have Newmarket Garage at Bannockburn to the North, West End Garage at Dunfermline to the East, West End Garage at Uphall to the South and Henrys at Glasgow to the West (there's also Parks at Hamilton to the South East).  No matter where in Falkirk you are there is a dealer within 15 miles of you and the nearest one to you would be well under 45 minutes from you.

You don't have to go the supplying dealer to have warranty issues sorted - if you're unhappy with the service from the supplying dealer pick one of the others, especially as they're nearer.

I'm the middle of nowhere, I put Falkirk as it is the nearest 'recognisable place' to where I am, and also where I spend much of my time between work, social etc. I didn't feel the need to disclose my absolute location, here!

I drive to Stirling to university, passing the Stirling Garage regularly. It takes me about 35 minutes to get there. And is more than 20 miles from me, however when I phoned them today the woman told me that it was West End garage that should deal with anything to do with my car, as it is there that I got my car from. Which in a way I can understand. Glasgow is significantly further away than Edinburgh for me, and the roads are much busier. And it takes 45+ Minutes to get to WEG. I know this because I have driven it regularly, not just at rush hour. I drive to edinburgh regularly, as I went to school there and my brother lives there. I drive to Stirling to uni. I can confirm I don't have a garage within 15 miles of me; I have checked all the locations of garages nearby, they are all over 20 miles, closest being Stirling who did not wish to have my car in.

Regardless, exact times/distances to garages are perhaps nuances that I am least bothered about, it's more the issues themselves. No, in fact allow me to rephrase; it is the combination of all issues! However, it is being resolved - touch wood - on Friday and that should hopefully be that.

I reiterate what I've said before, despite my patience being tested by Skoda, in many different levels - this thread doesn't cover all the things that are going on just now with Skoda and I, or past things - once it's fixed I will be happy and move on. Still frustrating which is why I made he topic in the first place; to vent! Still don't see it as acceptable the list of things that's happened, but there are worse things in life; I've made this clear!

I'll just be glad to get it fixed on Friday. And have my Citybug back to normal. :)

I'm sorry but what a load of tosh, a Skoda dealer is a Skoda dealer and all technicians should be qualified for whatever instance and when something new arises mechanics need training, you should in retrospect be able to phone any Skoda dealer to deal with something regardless of where the car was brought from, correct me if I'm wrong, but if it's the case I obviously can't use Skoda in Meadens and must stick with Westover Skoda as it's the dealer I originally got my car from, I may have taken this all out of context so ignore me if I have

You can use any dealer anywhere.

I bought my Octavia MK1 tdi from the Taxi Centre in Glasgow but I used sadly Westovers in Corfe Mullen before they moved.

Long drive to Glasgow [emoji6]

You're absolute correct! This is how I felt. But with the 'leave us alone' attitude I heard over the phone, I wasn't going to consider them. I don't want any garage with that kind of professionalism (or lack of) anywhere near my car. And at the end of the day, the garage is only marginally more convenient to visit than the one I bought my car from in Edinburgh, anyway. (Neither are particularly convenient) :D

That's staggering - they must be doing well if they can afford to turn work away!

For any future work, West End in Uphall should be a bit closer to you than the Edinburgh one - just come off the M9 at junction two and go cross country (just ten minutes from that junction).  I think the labour rates might be cheaper for Uphall than Edinburgh too in case you ever want a Skoda dealer to do any non-warranty work for you.

Fingers crossed your car gets sorted on Friday and doesn't give you any other problems

I think going back to original post, when you actually examine nearly all new cars will have issues no matter what

I had a Honda CR-V and had 36 warranty claims in 24 months it was a proper bag of scanners that said I do drive my cars hard 50k a year and loaded up

I had a 60 plate superb very little wrong till I hit the 90k mark then all sorts but it's how your dealer deals with it and generally I found the skoda dealer brilliant, I had the cable to bonnet release snap on me at 7 in the morning when I had a meeting 4 hours away

So I couldn't put washer fluid in which was why I was opening it, I set off and phoned a skoda dealer enroute and took car in they had to take of wheel, wheel arch get in to bonnet fit new cable fill, up washer all done in an hour no charge (Robert erdlys in Stoke ) I think that's what they are called

The BM i currently have 2 weeks in brick through windscreen ( every car I've had gets same issue !!)

28k miles rear tyre lets go at speed and comes of rim (run flats)

Currently on 54k no issues 14 months old yesterday

I've had fords fords fords and fords never had an issue except for the dealer service

My MD got a new Ferrari and then that spent the first 3 months of its life back and to, to Ferrari

My boss has a Range Rover (new £100k) vouge and it's got one problem after another

So your not doing too back really :)

...

Essential and critical are synonymous to me.

...

If it was mechanical issue it would be critical -> safety issue, recall is needed.

As it was just a software update -> something else than critical, as it isn't safety issue.

I shall definitely bear it in mind!

Thank you, appreciated! :)

Absolutely, I'm not as bad as I could be. But since 2009, our families has purchased 5 new cars. None of them have had any problems, having done more miles than me!

I guess it's just your luck of the draw, and in this case I wasn't quite as fortunate. As I say, not the end of the world but still frustrating! Certainly, I'll be glad it's getting fixed on Friday and I can drive my car without worrying about the gear selector cable :D

Camlep I know that feeling I bought mine as a first car and it's had multiple issues!

I hate the Fabia with all my heart, I'd never buy the new gen Fabia

What are skoda thinking? Quality is coming down across the range and prices are going up. A polo, Ibiza or even a1 make more sense than a Fabia.
