Being looking after my dad's vRS for a while now - i managed to machine it last Christmas when he got it as a present from my fantastic mother but only a light enhancement as the temp was stupidly cold!

Just maintaining it to a high standard before I do a full 2/3 stage correction on it after winter. So much more to come from the cracking white paint!

Gave it a decent wash this week! Only 7000 miles from new and he drives it only on a weekend so have plenty of time to get it tip top!

A quick pre 10 o'clock wash for my pair this morning.

Rinsed, soaked with Powermaxed TFR, rinsed, washed with powermaxed shampoo and a spritz of AW QED for the Superb and Soft99 Prism for the Focus (thanks Shaunyshine!)

Looking lovely as ever Neil! I'm interested in your thoughts on the powermaxxed TFR....heard good things about this. Is this a regular for you as opposed to an auto/snow foam? How effective is it when diluted?

Regards

David

It's a difficult one on black cars as you can't see how well it cleans as an oppose to lighter cars. I mix it 20:1 and it seems to work as well as Bilt Hamber Autofoam and AW Fast Foam. Certainly doesn't strip LSPs.

The bonus is you don't need a lance I guess, but works out as cost effective as the Fast Foam and more so than Bilt Hamber, but BH Autofoam is still my favourite!

Thanks Neil, I use the BH Auto Foam and find this a very good product. Think I'll have a bash with the TFR though, save a few quid long term. What makes the BH your favourite?

It's a low foamer, which cleans better than the others.

Top job on the motors mate!

Managed to get the outside of mine done on Wednesday after I helped my brother do his.

Tried Signature Groups Candy Apple Snow Foam which was quite thick

After about 5-minutes dwell time

Following the snow foam application and rinse door shuts, wheel arches and the lower half of the car were treated to Signature Groups  Premium Citrus Pre Wash at a dilution of of 10:1 applied with a Mesto Foamer followed by a rinse followed by treating the lower half of the car with Bilt-Hamber Korrosol and another rinse.

The car was then washed using the 3-bucket method using Zymol Natural Concentrated Auto Wash (lovely smell) using a Hellshine Red Scythe Lambswool Pad for the upper part of the car and a Gyeon Q2M Smoothie for the lower half with the wheels and tyres being treated with Bilt-Hamber Auto Wheels using various brushes and a Detail Master Chenille Knobby Mitt.

The car was rinsed again and sprayed with a 50:50 mixture of Last Touch (as a drying aid) and dried off with a Hellshine Reaper and a Yellow Uber Drying Towels (well there was 2 of us ;-) )

A polish with Poor Boys Black Hole Glaze applied with an Auto Brite Microfibre applicator was followed by a wax with Poor Boys Natty's Blue Paste Wax applied with an Autofinesse - Wax Mate Applicator both the Glaze and the Wax were buffed off using Detail Master Pro Eagle Edgeless Microfibre towels.

Tyres were then dressed with Tyre Slik and the wheels sprayed with AG Wheel Protector

The finished result

Of all the products used the one I'm disappointed with is the AG Wheel Protector, this is an updated version that requires you to spray on and leave to dry, when checking the car this morning you can see runs on the wheel surface, maybe I used too much, this never happened with the original product as it was spray on and buff off application.

Hopefully I'll be able to sort this out on Friday as I didn't have a chance today.

Top job there mate - really stunning results.

Plus great to see a good write-up and plenty information there.

That is some thick foam - thickest i've seen in some time.

Of course thinker isnt necessarily better - whats your thoughts on cleaner power of the foam?

Many thanks for taking the time.

Cheers,
Ste.

It seemed to clean pretty good although in honesty I have only used AD Magifoam or the Signature Group stuff so hard to compare, I do have some Bilt Hamber Auto Foam that I'll try next time.

Vacuumed it today and then buffed the AG Wheel Protector off even though it states to let it dry as it had run in places and my brother also had the same experience, the strange thing is that the wheels still feel like they have a coating on them so time will tell on that front.

Gave the seats (beige leather) a wipe over with Dr Leather Wipes and was pleased to see it lift some marks from the drivers seat bolster and cleaned the glass with EZ Car Care Gecko which according to the blurb is a water repelling glass cleaner, finished off by changing the wiper blades for Bosch ones.

Looking good! Cracking colour!

Thank you, Magnetic Brown Metallic looks great in the right light and the Glaze/Wax combo seems to suit the Skoda paint finish.

On the home stretch..... just a bit of waxing left to do :)

HOOLIGAN hahaha!

Today's detailing involved the engine bay of a Merc CLA45 AMG. A 15 plate with 22k miles on the clock, never had the engine bay cleaned whatsoever and the car lives under a tree at the client's home address!

Various sensitive parts covered with tin foil prior to application of BH Surfex degreaser via pump sprayer. All parts agitated with a detailing brush prior to dwelling, followed by a rinse with the open end of a hose. Bay dried before application of Aerospace 303 dressing and final inspection.
