Had a go at polishing my B-pillars this afternoon using my new 4" Hexlogic pads. Wiped down with Meguiars APC, clayed with Bilt Hamber medium clay, and polished with DAS-6 Pro with Meguiars Ultimate Compound on green pad, and refined with Meguiars 205 on white pad, then waxed with BMD Atlas. They're not 100% perfect but fairly happy with the finish. I'm not that experienced with machine polishing so been aching to get some practice!

Top result there! They're usually really soft so I'm thinking it wouldn't take you that long. Great products too!

All the best

Thanks very much! Here's another shot of it. Shows it's not perfect (probably put them in from just buffing the polish off tbh!) but still happy with the attempt!

I still think it's a great result and a MASSIVE improvement! We all strive for perfection and we all get a little closer with practice.

Nice work Dan.... softly softly on those plastics is the best way.

Then of course get it well sealed and protected.

Looking forward to trying BMD Atlas myself.... probably worth a couple of wax coats on that area

One thing I have to do on my vRS! Good results there Dan!

Today's winter prep involved this new Skoda Citigo. A cold day but she came up a treat, after a full decon and two coats of DSW. Lovely paint and wheel combo really set it off.

Gave my dad's vRS a thorough winter protection detail around 2 weeks ago.

Was due a maintenence wash this week so set to it yesterday.

All the necessary steps, pre wash, snow foam, 3 bucket method etc.

Finished with Bouncers Done & Dusted QD.

Looking good Karl...... a cold day for detailing!!! Brrrrr

How are you finding Bouncers D&D?

Really good product - easy to use and smells awesome.

...just wish is was a bit cheaper to be my regular QD.

Even your mum's van looks quite clean there...... surely you didnt do both?!? :giggle:

Cheers buddy. Yeah was bitterly cold. Wooly hat, 2 pairs of gloves and insulated work pants helped a little. Oh and thank the Lord for warm water lol!

It's a fantastic QD. Love the smell, nice slick finish too. Whites always a good test of any product I find!

Not the cheapest I agree. Although I did get this in the ishine sale i think when we ordered. Ordered so much these last few weeks I forget what I've got lol!

Did the van last week as it was grotty as hell. Still needs Alot of work but had limited time unfortunately.

It could do with a full machine correction really but don't have the time at the moment!

It's taken me a while to get on here again and say thank you David. So, thank you, David for putting the graft into Mrs Vivs new car and indeed for the winter prep job you did on mine before. Mrs Viv was thrilled with the finish.

Thanks for taking time out to post Malcolm. As I said before, customer satisfaction is paramount and I'm chuffed you're both happy with the results. All the best, David.

It doesn't suit me at all and makes me look a serious numpty.. but keeps my big ears a little brain warm. I'm happy haha!

See, if the missus would agree to move to Cyprus, I wouldn't feel the need for all this wooly business!

Today's winter prep was this 2011 Audi A4, in generally good condition despite living outside under a tree!

First job was to empty under the bonnet of leaves and general crud, no engine bay detail today but I just couldn't ignore it!

Usual decon revealed loads of paint imperfections but the client wanted to address this come spring. So, a good cleanse with SRP prior to waxing with DSW.

The rear plastic bumper guard had faded badly so a perfect opportunity to address this with Solution Finish. The photos speak for themselves, great result.

The light had gone by the time I finished so indoor photos with lots of background objects, not the best I'm afraid!!

Helped a mate from work give his RS3 a quick maintenance wash yesterday.

He's currently moving house and all his detailing gear in storage until Springtime.

Came up quite well.....

It's a stunning car this. Really enjoyed seeing it last time round. Mark is also a top bloke.

Just a shame I can't get hold of the funds to buy it, it's a credit to him.

Totally agree Karl.

Helped him research this purchase and test drive a couple of RS3's as well.....  12 months on, 6k miles, first service next week.

Will be for sale very soon; as he is freeing up cash for some property development in 2017.

Somebody is going to get a cracking car!

Well - what are Sundays for..... a good old detailing day!

The weather played ball and my detailing buddy came over to help out and enjoy a beer or two.

Karl's Fabia vRS and our Z4.... sorted
