Must have options?

Featured Replies

After much deliberation (and considering an E92 M3 or Golf R) I have decided to wait and spec a vRS 230 TSi DSG estate.

I gather the 230 will come with the Black pack with the Extreme alloys. I also would like Columbus and possibly Canton/leather.

What other options would you say are a must? Is the ACC worth it? Reversing camera? Sunroof?

(Somebody will get their hands on an immaculate FL Mk2 TSi in Candy White with Revo stage 1....)

'variable boot floor' especially in the estate so you have a flat loading area with the seats down.

Spare wheel is £100 at order or £240 from spares afterwards, kinda think it makes the essential list.

ACC is useful if you do allot of Motorway or A Road cruising, once I got used to it in my GTI I love it.  No use if you want to press on but for those days when traffic dictates the pace its great.

Even though I have the full self parking set of 'parking sensors' next time I would also spec the Reversing Camera'

Not sure if its an option but I certainly spec DCC if its available, especially if you have 19 inch wheels

.

You can't spec a spare with the extreme wheels as they don't do a 19 spare.

Heated windscreen.

This, plus power boot.

amazing in the winter!

I would also say ACC but I do 90% motorway mileage in light traffic.

Thanks guys. Now to test drive the Mk3. The only thing I didn't like when I sat in one was the accelerator pedal is not as nice as the Mk2. Also the handbrake was on the wrong side!

Two big ones for me are sunroof and power boot.

Is the 18 and 19 rolling radius not the same? Can't you choose the right tyre size to match that of the 19? Presumably they don't have to change the speedo when you spec 19" wheels so it must be very similar??

That's what

I haven't done the sidings but from previous posts I've seen you can't spec one on the system

Ah, fair enough.

Skoda in "It's impossible yet can be done" shocker.

Heated screen / winter pack.

Canton

Leather

The rest is down to personal preference!

Spare wheel

Leather

KESSY

Beggar's belief

DSG and parking sensors to the front.

Everything then you won't know what you'd miss. Alternatively folding mirrors with autodim are very useful along with my extras as below, winter pack and Canton worthwhile. Having used them, Front Assist and Front Park Sensors come lower down the priority list.

Is the Webasto included in the UK winterpack?

Is the Webasto included in the UK winterpack?

I wish!

Although I suspect it would not be a popular choice in the UK given the cost, I would have added it in a heartbeat having had them on a few machines in the past. I am told it is not available as factory fit on RHD production cars even in the markets that do special order options (which the UK is definitely not one)

Have to settle for using the 'simply clever' ice scraper on cold mornings!

Its a shame.

With the Webasto and 4x4 Im almost looking forward to the next winter.

What is the Webasto?

What is the Webasto?

It heats the coolant before driving. Never again will I have to get into a cold car in the morning.

What is the Webasto?

Google "Parking Heaters"

But in short it is a fuel powered heater that heats water and circulates it through your engine water system. Your normal car heater then defrosts the car. Not only that but you get an engine that is up to temperature from the start.

Mainly used on efficient diesels that do not give out a lot of heat, but really nice to have on other things too

Expensive but once you have had one...

Had one on my E class , truly killed the economy in the winter but warmed up quickly
