Octavia build dates for new orders

Featured Replies

The dealer called and updated me that the car is due in Dublin on Monday the 14th, so I could possibly have it by the end of next week or early the following week. So that would be 3 & 1/2 weeks earlier than the original date given.

I will update once I have the car. I think it helps others on the forum who are also waiting on their orders.

I can't wait at this stage, my wife is getting sick of it!

But strange this one. Emailed the friendly dealer in Monday for an update after my build date of wk8 and some of the horror stories on here about a months wait at the dock! All I got back was 'it has been released' and I should expect a '3 to 4 week' delivery. The level of detail frustrated me so I asked for my order number and checked with Skoda UK this afternoon who told me it had been put on a transport from North Shields this morning and should be with the dealer today. Now I'm not expecting minute by minute updates but even the most sane person would say there's a huge difference between 3 weeks and tomorrow? I emailed the dealer and they said 'great news, I'll call you when it arrives on site!'. WTF?!?

Think you've done well to get it so quickly, compared to some stories on here.

Hope the dealer calls you to say its here soon.

Absolutely agree Rich, I was expecting a couple of weeks more so it's definitely not a complaint in that regard. I'm a little disappointed that the dealer isn't up to speed though, he's a young lad and he's been very good so far so I'm not miffed but I'd expect him to be a bit more up on how the computer system works!! Guess I'll know better soon, although I haven't ordered all my odds and sods I wanted from Skodadop yet because I wasn't expecting it so soon!

Hope mine gets on a transporter as quick as yours, mines a BW8 car too

Assuming I'm getting the right info!

So today is the day, picking my VRS up later today. Exact dates are .... Ordered on the 18th Jan , landed at the dealer on the 7th of March and pick up today. Can't wait

That ties in with my timeline Stu, think I was a day behind you. Not heard back about the appearance of my car at the dealers just yet....

Enjoy! Had mine since 1st March, very pleased!

Are VRS's taking longer? My dealer says 3 months and doubts it will be any quicker.. :(

Enjoy Stu!

I have never bought a new car before and the wait is killing me! I cant even add more extras as it is now locked down

BW14

My new VRS is apparently shipped and the dealer is hoping it'll be with them and ready for me to collect on the18th March, ordered 29th January so a lot sooner than the initial delivery estimate of April/May.

Got a call this evening from my dealer, my BW 8 4x4 VRS Estate that was ordered 16/01 arrived today, I'm picking it up on Monday!

So 8 weeks from order to delivery, not quite as fast as my Yeti's 6 weeks but I'm still really chuffed

Got to the dealership and they had put it in show room which was a nice touch. Can't wait to have a proper play tomorrow after work

Finding the vastly different delivery times frustrating, notice some people ordering after me now who already have delivery of theirs. So strange

Im With you. I ordered my car on the 28th of December. It would appear that the cars for the South of England are taking a lot longer to get from the factory.

The Northern cars seem to be coming across alot quicker however they have three boats on the run versus the larger boat on the southern run!

I ordered mine 28th Dec in Derby, arrived at dealers 4th March can't collect till Saturday so 2 days and counting.

Does seem strange people ordering mid Jan and have taken delivery already, unless they got lucky and bagged a recently cancelled order which was the same car if that can happen.

Is adding options which then forces a factory build causing the delay?

I was able to pick a car that was already scheduled to be built that didn't yet have a customer.

Ordered yesterday, build week 11 which I assume is next week, delivery next month.

If you want your individual spec then it's going to be a factory build that you will have to wait for.

If you compromise a bit look at pipeline and UK dealer stock, you can have a car within a couple of weeks.

Its your choice.

Agree with you too on that, definitely a great difference between north and south deliveries

I'm in the south, I personally think it's just pot luck

Enjoy Stu!

I'm exactly the same, first new car and BW14 can't stop thinking about it, feel like a kid waiting for christmas.

Cynical mode engaged.... I do hope that no-one is pawing over your new uncollected car in that showroom. It's likely in there for their sales benefit rather than your own .... Cynical mode off...

I'm with you, I'd rather my car tucked away where no one can mess around with it!
