vRS 2.0L TDI in Quartz Grey with black pack - confirmed order 17th March, build week 19. They said early June to expect it. Fingers crossed because I'm moving bases in June and hoping to be able to drive to it! :(

I tied to resist but gave in - have now tweaked my order to add LED taillights - £175 I know but it's like spoiling the ship for a hap'orth of tar if you don't go for it.

 

While on to the dealer bunged in the dealer fit door sill protectors and load bay lip protector as well.

 

My dealer showed me the build week calendar and this week is the last in which I can tweak my order so my wallet will be grateful to know that the electric tailgate close and the Columbus will not be added.  <sigh>

I just rang the dealer to see if I could add smartlink and a price, also asked for an update on delivery.

 

He just left a message saying that it's at stage (or status 10)... which apparently means its awaiting "being put together in the factory" he helpfully didnt give an idea of when it would actually be ready ha ha

 

anybody any ideas what stage 10 is?

Added a space saver spare wheel and fitting kit to my order today and asked about the build week. The dealer said that changing an order early before building starts often generates a build date and sure enough he came back with a week 18 build date and delivery to Meaden's of Sway, Hampshire 4 weeks later.

 

Space saver spare wheel and fitting kit considerably dearer if bought later.£100 from dealer when ordering car up to £168 to buy later. (I only got one quote).

 

Found Meadens a great garage to deal with. Hope you enjoy once you get it.

Latest update from my dealer is unchanged from order:-

 

Order date was the 18th Feb and have a build date of Week 14 and delivery estimate of week 18.

So in theory it is being built now, but he said next update he will get is when its on a train and then in Dublin port.

 

My Full spec of the car is below. Bearing in mind it is now locked, is there anything i should have done differently (Options needed vs VCDS enable)

What options would be recommended as most important for enabling if I go down that route?

Which broker did you buy through? I bought my golf through a broker and the dealer was fantastic.

www.new-car-deal.co.uk No problem with them but I don't know which dealer its getting supplied by. When I asked at the time of order I was told "we deal with many dealerships"..... Have since inquired and was told the following day it was being built week 14, I then asked "so I should see the car the 1st half of may?" and was told "yes, something like that"!! 

I've saved over 19% so the lack of info is just a frustrating inconvenience. I'll drop them an email next week.

I've just been told that my car has now been built and is just leaving the factory. Dealer said I can expect to have it by the end of this month. VRS estate TDI Quartz grey. Ordered end of February.

Emailed my dealer today and had an email back saying it was built on the same days as yours (2 days ago) I ordered mid Feb but added to my order at the end of feb so this pushed the build week back from 13 to 14.

 

Lets us know when yours is on the ship as my dealer only gives me info if I hound him

Since moving to new Milton with a Skoda Ambiente 6 years ago found Meaden's to offer second to none service.

 

Can't forget the time I needed a rear light bulb but didn't know the type. The parts man can out to the car found the dud bulb went back to the stores got said bulb and fitted it - it was raining at the time. service like that very rare these days.

Anyone know if upon ordering the space saver wheel I lose the tyre inflation kit and compressor?

 

I shouldn't because the space saver costs an extra 100 quid.

 

One other thing do all Octavias now have the rear LED light bar - I never noticed it on my test drive and it was an SEL Estate I drove?

I ordered a spare wheel with mine and no you don't get the inflation kit as well, think that's why it's cheaper at the order stage than if you buy it afterwards

I thought it was 18 hours, so car is out the door ready for shipping in 1 day = 2 work shifts. If it took 6 days then they would have had to start building mine in week 13.

I though 6 days seems a long time, but my dealer insists. Maybe 6 days includes the waiting time to be taken to the docks!

I will ask the question on a new thread and see if anyone has the answer.

That being the case would mean it would arrive at dealer 3^rd or 4^th week of April, it’s always difficult to pinpoint exactly as once they are in transit, the communication chain goes a bit dead until it arrives at dealer.

 

Realistically I would expect to be delivering it the 1^st week of May."

Still don't know who the dealer is though but having had some dialogue with my broker, basically he sources cars via the fleet department of a large dealer group with 15+ Skoda dealers within the group and it can be supplied from anyone of them, so until it arrives with him he doesnt know who the dealer is himself. As the deal/contract is with him therefore ordering/booking & delivery/payment all the way through is with him. Perhaps this is why he was the best price?? Makes sense....

I ordered mine through LingsCars (and although the website might make it look like a scam, they are great) they provide the upmost support as far as those kind of questions I've thrown at them, plus it's the cheapest place I've found to get the car! Just out of interest do you know if yours will be dropped off at Bromsgrove?

The company I'm leasing from said it'll go to Bromsgrove to be registered - just thought that was weird and from there it will then go to a PDI centre (for preperation) which will be more local to my location (north of scotland) then delivered directly to me.

Was in exactly the same boat Roger as you may have read on my various posts. I messaged mine about 8 weeks after I ordered and was given the planned build date, so I'd give it 3 weeks and ask the question.

So would you say I am around 3 weeks behind you? What did you order? Mine is a Scout with a few added extras, parking sensors front and back, reversing camera, folding mirrors, Bluetooth with voice control and candy white paint.

No probs. Ordered mine 29th Jan so you're 4/5 weeks behind me. VRS TDI DSG estate, race blue, acc, panoramic roof, power boot, vbf, Canton, Columbus, front sensors, folding mirrors, spare wheel, removable tow bar, black pack plus, heated leather, light assist & winter pack.... Been told I'll have it in about three weeks

I ordered my VRS TDI ESTATE on the 25/3/16 the dealer said its on week 14 now and will be built on week 19 then 4 weeks delivery been told by the dealer that is should be here around 31/7/16 don't really get the whole week build thing :|
