What about the things that annoy you?

Featured Replies

Bonnet release in the wrong place.

Washer fill directly behind the bonnet prop pole

The 5L smaller fuel tank really does make a difference when you do high mileage.

  • There are very good reasons for driving on the left   1.Your sword arm always faces the oncoming traffic 2.Your horse-whip does not snag in the hedges 3.You do not end up walking in the gutter whe

  • Seriously people, just start driving on the right side of the road so manufacturers won't have to bother with trivial stuff like that anymore!

  • There is a persistent squeaky noise coming from the front passenger seat.       (I keep telling her to shut up but she won't................ )

Or just flick the sensitivity up one notch which causes a single wipe

My sensitivity switch is at it max settings already. Even if you keep fliping sensitivity you will come to an end eventually and have to reset :D

Wow, if mine is on Max sensitivity the Auto wipers operate way too often for my liking.

Have you tried cleaning the windscreen glass over the sensor with some IPA or equivalent to make sure it is squeaky clean?

Opening the boot on my hatch in the rain the water on the bootlid spills into the boot, on the shelf and tops of back seats.... Super annoying!!

I have drank all the IPA I had, but I will see if I can get some more..

Cool, let me know if it helps :)

This annoys me...

Haha, just seen this and it made me laugh. Was giving my workmate a lift yesterday and he said "That would annoy me", when I asked him what would, he pointed to that very thing.

It's such a simple fix too but it's been like that for years. Only I'm alowed to change the volume in my car, using the steering wheel controls.

It's the volume knob for me. Drives me mad that it's all wonky.

The wife loves the fact and deliberately leaves it all over the place.

Four days into ownership - the reflection of the chrome trim around dashboard side air vents in the door mirrors is annoying!

Ok this isn't just the Octavia it's all new Vag cars. For anyone who has owned or still owns a older Vag car the sodding key is around the wrong way

Correction - the reflection is in the windows in line with the mirrors. I'll have to wait for the windows to get dirty for it to disappear as they are still squeaky clean !

Agreed my MK2 key was far nicer to hold/use.

You forget it after a while. Could be worse, you could be getting wound up over the volume control.

1. One button for lock and unlocking of doors.

Dim light on button shows it is locked but much more intuitive if it was two buttons and a red light = locked.

Basically not obvious if doors are locked or unlocked - annoying when you pick someone up and have to unlock doors.

2. Door mirror design is poor as it draws in road spray and mirrors get dirty quickly, heated mirrors just dry the dirt in.

3. No spring/damping action on glovebox lid - cost cutting.

Also as others said - no gas struts for bonnet.

Lgdos

The glove box lid should be damped.

Ditto. SWMBO does the same, drives me mad

Even worse the steering wheel controls don't work when the ignition is off so I have to turn the ignition on to turn the radio up or down - especially annoying on Bluetooth watching YouTube as you end up doing it on every video.

Also the Windows switches are too far forward, they've started putting the barriers down at work so I have to use my ID card to get in and almost every day I drive up and put the back window down, swear, put it back up and then put the front window down.

I mentioned this a long time ago and did get used to it, but I had been toying with the idea of carefully placing narrow strips of black adhesive tape over them...then I thought 'nah'........

Matt black Plasti-Dip seems to be all the rage on other parts

I must have bought a different car or be less fussy as none of the points on this thread annoys me at all!!

My idea of tape was so that it would be easy to return to the normal look when sellling the car on, especially as it is on PCP

The awkward Fusebox location on RHD cars. Haven't needed to open it up yet but dreading if I have to do it at night.

My apologies I was being flippant.

Window switches are so annoying, I do this all the time!
