Service and Maintenace Advice

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 2011 Skoda Fabia 1.6 TDi 105BHP Common Rail...

It's just hit 60000 miles and I've followed the services intervals perfect and had it service every 10000 miles with oil, oil filter and air filter and cabin filter... But I believe that's all the servicing that has been done!

I'm wondering if you can advice me of the additional services that I will need to do now? I.e. When's it time for a brake fluid change? Power steering fluid? Anti freeze change? Time for a timing belt change? Any additional changes?

Appreciate all some advice!

Thanks,

Nathan.

I also have a 2011 1.6 diesel with 34,000 on the clock.

I've been told it needs a cambelt now ( 4 years or 60,000 miles. ) I stand corrected if I'm wrong.

I've had a quote of cam belt and water pump change by main dealer for £670 !

Anyone know of any Skoda independent garages in the Powys area.

Cam Belt & Water Pump as part of Skoda National Pricing at participating dealers was £399

& you could have it cheaper than that at Non Participating dealers,

or even at a Good Independent or maybe a VW Main Dealer.

Did that include the pump with the decent metal impeller or the plastic one ?

The rubbish OEM ones, you can have it done cheaper with the decent pump that costs no more from a Motor Factors.

Thats what I was planning on doing,my car has managed 9 years on the same belt, even though its only done 36,000 miles as someones second car.Thankfully the latter half of that mileage it was serviced by a BMW main dealer, however,I think after 9 years on the same belt I would be pushing my luck if I didn't get it changed this year.
