Build weeks?

Featured Replies

It seems no one is totally sure.

I know Irish spec cars are getting 6.5 inch boleros, the vrs is getting a reversing camera too.

Have you seen new 2015 brochure/pricelist

http://www.skoda.ie/brochures/pricelists/

It states Bolero is 5.8"....looks like Ireland is is same boat as UK re-bolero spec.

Who told you it was 6.5"?

A dealer, not the one I'm buying from mind. I'm going to be ****ed if I can't run android auto properly.

That new price list stinks of a copy and paste job, that's what I'm telling myself anyway because an extra 0.7 inches can make all the difference, the only new thing on that list is the rs230 spec and the addition of smart link, it's not the end of the world if the bolero stays the same size once it supports carplay etc, it's not a bad screen as it is

I've been told a reversing camera is standard too and its not mentioned. Have it in an email and all from the dealer that they spoke to a Skoda specialist and they said it would be on them.

Also with the extra spec included the 230 looks like a bargain.

As long as the resolution is big enough, screensize shouldnt matter. At least not when differences are so small.

For comparison, I ordered my Scout 184, on 27th April.

Dealer quickly confirmed Week 22 MY16 build.

It was built last week and on 28th May it's status changed to "In transit to Germany port"(sic).

I'm hoping I'm 2-3 weeks away from collection (yeah, I know thats optimistic!)

Where are you seeing it's status?

Iwonder how common it is for dealers to sit on a sale without ordering from factory in order to manipulate their sales/target/bonus figures- i.e. hold it back until next month because they have already hit this month's target...?

I have no source of proof but i imagine this is very very common.

As I imagine it would be in any target driven occupation.

I know in my role when we had performance indicators and had to get 3 per month. We would get the 3 and bank any extra, not submitting them until the following month to alleviate some of the pressure.

Dealer just rung up. Car will not be here to pick up in 10th june as he said 2 weeks ago.. Now its it will be here in 2 weeks. 3rd time it has not arrived on date he said. Ordered end if March. Would of been ok if he just said expect it July, but getting the hump now with the lies, was six weeks, then ..... Etc etc :(

My Scout is now in Grimsby, it arrived midnight Weds (I forget) and trackmyskoda updated to at UK port on Friday. Now wondering how soon it'll be at dealer and how quick they can do PDI.

Now have to get the Mk1 VRS sold pronto (Mk1 Octy VRS for sale etc. etc)

Feeling less irritated that I had to order the DSG auto now I've knackered my left knee playing silly buggers last weekend. Physiotherawife reckons I have a damaged meniscus, although what water sticking to glass has to do with knees is anyone's guess...

Pdi's will probably take a few hours tops.

The dealer will need to get it registered and plated etc.

As for transport from Grimsby, when we took delivery of our Yeti in 2012, it took about 2 weeks to get from there to the dealer.

The transportation is subcontracted out by Skoda, so it's purely a question of logistics.

One suggestion I would make is to NOT collect it in a Saturday afternoon.

The workshop people will have gone home and if you find any problems there will be no-one there to put them right.

I asked for fixed servicing, and it was delivered and given to me set to variable.

Worse than that I asked for a tow bar to be fitted, having asked for the prep to be done at the factory.

They fitted a generic part, which was not recognised by the CANBUS. So no fancy trailer graphics on the Bolero screen. I didn't find this out till I got home 300 miles later

My vrs estate was due on at dealer Tuesday. Got mail from lease company saying it had been delayed till 13th July now due to parts supply issues? :-(

Nightmare. When you order?

Good news - the car arrived on site today (all in 1 piece), they are delivering it to my house on Tuesday....

Which mean's it was ordered 13th April, Build Week 21, delivered 23rd June...

My car is being supplied through a lease company but I know who the supplying dealer is.

Has anybody contacted the supplying dealer direct in this scenario for updates as to progress?

I mean, will the supplying dealer likely have any details relating to me to allow them to search, check and advise of progress??
