So thats two SE's its been in now ;)

For the price it was rude not too.

Looking forward to throwing it around the lanes near me. Already over bumps I can feel it's a lot stiffer.

It was originally in my car :D so its very special indeed!

Cant say i notice much difference but i didnt take it on track days and dont push it around corners, i drive like an old man really, just like a little bit straight line speed, 2nd and 3rd gear is about it for me :D

I buy things for the sake of it, front strut brace, rarb, coilovers etc and it still goes the same from A to B for me, but look pretty!

Got a few hutchy hand me downs on my car now :D

I know tech1e mentioned it made a difference to his. And I'm hopefully at brands again in a few month so that will be the big test lol.

Had a chance to try out the rear strut brace over the last few days and the change in handling is quite drastic. Which I wasn't really expecting as I had one on my old peugeot and it didn't do anything in the slightest.

The rear end feels much more solid and when pressing on instead of the the front dragging the rear round the corner, the rear now comes more into play and you can really tell that the rears helping the front tuck into the corner.

What Pug?

Torsion bar rear suspension probably,so a strut brace won't do much ;)

306 so it did have the torsion beam. But I still wasn't expecting it to do much to the fabia.

Unit 18's courtesy car :D , mines just having asome minor work done that I don't have the time to do myself. I have to say it's amazing how the noise of a petrol with hanging off back box can make you want to sell up and go back to petrol.....until I saw the 25mpg average!!! Mines mid 40's and with a lot more full throttle.

Must say it's a very nice car to drive, it's on 175k and everything works, it handles well and is very comfortable (well compared to what I'm used to lol) although it does feel pretty slow as standard.

Some pictures of Unit 18 while waiting for the courtesy car to come back from getting some tyres.

Haha, no the fabias staying for a bit longer, my commute will double soon as I've bought a flat, which also means no new fabia toys :( Edited by stevobeavo

I can take them off your hands if you want ;)

There need a clean up and the adjusters on one are broken so I might strip them apart and see if they can be fixed...unless you want to make me an offer on how they are at the moment lol.

Hey, could you possibly take a pic of the fitting of your milltek over the xenon level sensor? since your car is lowered it should be quite tight? sry for the bad English.

Mine are retro fitted so I'm afraid I don't have the leveling sensor. I'm sure lofty on here has a miltek and xenon's.

I do and I can confirm it's bloody tight under there! Took some fiddling with but fits ok and doesn't catch or bang

Well at my work recent we've had a big shake up and got lots of new toys, tyre machine, balancer and this....

be rude not to try it out :D

When it was up there I had a poke around and found the N/S drop link was a bit loose on the joints, wasnt knocking bit was only a matter of time. It was one I replaced last summer and when it turned up I thought 'this won't last long'

So next day a replacement arrived.

Old one off,

See how pathetic the old one looks

Also found some small tears in the rubber

New one in place

Nice easy 5 minute job. Next on the list is to give it a oil change and I suspect I may have a very small leak on the brake vaccum pipe so I'll be looking into that soon.

And also in a few months I may be looking to sell up. Just doing some research on some cars atm.

Did a quick oil change at work today, it's a bit overdue as the last one I did was beginning of December. Dispite getting trade prices at work with ECP's I opted to get a genuine skoda oil filter (looks good in the stack of srevive hI story :) ). Won't be changing the air filter as I need to get in contact with unit 18 about a new air filter set up.

So easy with the right tools :D

Decided to poke around the under the car as I've noticed the handling seems a bit off, and discovered this.

28315421572_bdc865fec9_b.jpg

Quite like the bush is still on the bar, moved quite a lot!!!

So at lunch I hunted around in my spares draw. Not the best fitting clamp but it should hold up for a bit.

I've also been getting a noise from the front left (I think), a bit of a puffing air type one when going over bumps, I can't see any leaks on the coilover it's self but when pushing down on the corners the passenger one is a bit easier to compress. Maybe one for the tech section.
