How fast does your car go in reverse?

The VW Sharan driver while going in reverse has managed to move our parked 3.5t unladen Iveco over two feet and in the process twisted the whole rear of the body...

You have to wonder what on earth he was doing.

He must have seriously dropped his clutch. Bet that made one hell of a bang

Apparently he does it every day.

Easier to reverse up a one way road the wrong way to get a parking space than drive round the block.

Icing on the cake, he only has third party insurance.

And he bought it a week ago on finance. :peek:

Haha I guess doing it the wrong way paid off. Who has third party these days? It's usually cheaper for fully comp.

Seriously? Third party on a 3 year old car, the difference is normally penny's!!!!!!

I've never insured a car less than fully comp, regardless of age or cost of car!!!

Absolute idiot!

G

At least he didn't drive off.

It probably can go about that fast. With me driving, it's never got over about 6mph (and yes I can reverse on the mirrors).

Ouch

what a tool

Wow, what a numpty! Surprised they let him have third party on a financed car.

So he'll have to keep paying off the finance for the next few years even though hes not got the car then?

Clever.

I'm special!!

So that's one written off car, plus damage to your minibus plus lost of earnings whilst the minibus is out of action.

Should have got fully comp!! But then again maybe he can't afford it due to crashing a lot?

Plus the golf the minibus has slid into? Or looks like it has?

I thought it was compulsory to Greece comprehensive insurance when taking a car out on finance?

That's always been in the small print when I've financed a car purchase on finance.

It is usually in the small print.

It means you have to agree to do it, not actually do it...

Was just about to type the exact same!

wow, Police involved? I'm sure they would have something to say about them reversing down a one was street the wrong way.

Their car looks a write off, I'm sure they are regretting it now, where they UK born or from another country?

Double whammie......or triple whammie if you include the crash. Like others I have only ever bought fully comp insurance even on my old S reg vectra where the insurance was twice as much as the car

*edit* double post

Ouch, that must have been going at some speed to move the Iveco.

Good job it wasn't the green one, and probably a good job he wasn't driving a Jag. Would probably have been even faster..

Dsg?

I reckon 20mph easy.

What a plum - new minibus please!

Wow. And a 3.5T minibus with hi-viz rear markings is so difficult to spot!  :dull:

So he was reversing down a one-way street, and collided with the rear of the bus that was parked in a bay?!

Whoops, that's going to cost him :D

Imagine if that had been a motorcyclist/cyclists/pedestrian/child, what a utter **** head

What an utter fool. Bet the finance company aren't going to be too thrilled if they find out!

Strange things happen with people and vehicles, some more tragic than others

Can't post a link to it, but our local rag reported on an old guy who was startled when his wife slammed the boot, he hit the accelerator, ran her over and killed her :(
