Don't think they would go with Magnetic Brown Metallic ;)

I know, just thinking for my upcoming white hatch.

Very wary about using APPS that rely on continuous data usage as the cost of mobile data is very expensive in the UK, would rather select as and when required as you can with the PetrolPrices APP

Don't get me wrong though a friend of mine uses Waze and it is very impressive especially with its live updates from users traveling on the same road as you are.

Would look fine on White, Silver, Grey's or Red or indeed Black not sure about the Blues, Jungle Green or Cappuccino Beige and definitely not Magnetic Brown.

Mind you, that just my honest opinion and life would be very dull if we were all the same ;)

I think the White looks really good with the black wrap on the roof as a couple of owners have already done and I'd also have the Door Mirror Caps wrapped in Black to if it were me.

I've never really found navigation apps to use huge amounts of data, although I must admit I've not exactly monitored it hugely closely. Even when I only had about 2GB of data I never found I had an issue. I suppose it also depends how often and long you use them.

I only have 250MB of data which is why I won't/don't use them also put me off buying the latest TomTom SatNav for my motorcycle as it uses your mobiles data to show safety cameras etc so went with the Garmin Zumo instead as it doesn't.

Each to their own though.

I must be doing something wrong ( or right ??? !! ) to only be getting 23.6mpg on local runs when other are getting 31 to 32 lol !! Maybe enjoying it too much ???

One of the benefits of retirement is choosing when to drive rather being dictated by work commitments. As a result I avoid the peak periods as best I can.

The other day I had no choice but to drive during the 5pm peak period.

Although mpg isn't a concern, I kept an eye on it. After a couple of miles in stop-go (mostly stop) traffic it had dropped to the very low 20s and that was with start/stop enabled.

I popped into the local superstore with its huge car park and up went the mpg surprisingly quickly, then back into the heavy traffic and it came crashing back down.

Once clear of the traffic and onto the quieter back and country roads it resumed its climb upwards.

So stating the obvious it's not how you drive but when and where you drive.

No surprise that the 280 loves being pushed  :sun:, hates commuters  :finger:.

Yeah I wouldn't want to risk it with just 250MB either.

Please keep it stock, much more "Q car" than when it's over-dressed....

+1.

We had to drive the R home in the evg.rush on Friday, in a down-pour too & it burned more than usual, was a reminder of the bad old days!

Don't worry David, I prefer the way it came out of the factory :)

you can stay in 150Mb/month,

just before drive type destination under WiFi covered area.

i have used that method when travel abroad

£2700 more than I paid for a new L&K 190 DSG with 6 miles on the clock, Not so sure it's that good a price. None the less that's a great engine if you can afford to run it, 1) I couldn't and 2) my licence would be lost very quickly its hard to keep the speed down it the 190, My only regret is not getting the 4x4 but that was a decision I made at time of order.

After 8000 miles of very mixed driving I am getting a solid 27mpg overall, this includes a mile run to the Post Office a couple of times a day, many plus 200 mile motorway runs, a german run at speeds up to 135mph and  a couple of fully loaded car and trailer runs of a couple of hundred miles.

Would have liked to get it to 30mpg but happy enough, maybe it will get better as the miles pile on.

That's not bad at all considering the extra weight and 4x4 running gear. My 220 is returning an average of 30/31 per tank atm, but we do 95% short local runs (we're disabled). On hour long motorway runs we're into the mid-40s mpg, but that's sticking to the limits. Only mentioning it as I'm curious as to what the 280 returns 'on a run'? I imagine most of the differences are due to the gearing - longer on the 220 for economy, and shorter on the 280 for acceleration.

As an aside, I'm more than a little annoyed at myself (and a bit annoyed at Skoda). I don't really care about the MPGs (else I'd have bought the 1.4) but it is always nice to see how the car is running and comparing different fuels etc. I've always enjoyed the 'Long term' screen as it tracks how many hours I've driven since we got the car, total MPG etc etc. Occasionally I go into settings > instrument panel > reset 'since start', as I want to track a particular journey for whatever reason (e.g. fully loaded v not). I happened to do that the other day, but that evening I flicked to the 'Long term' page instead of 'since refuelling' page by accident..... and saw that it had reset. :o  The only thing I can think is I've hit the option below earlier that day - 'Reset long term data'. It's habit to tap the 'Reset since start' and then tap 'OK' so I must have done it without realising.

Why oh why did Skoda not add an extra 'ARE YOU SURE?' dialogue for the nuclear option? Doh. Forever gone and ruined. Care about MPG that much? Hell no. Will my OCD annoy the living hell out of me for it for as long as I have the car? Yup. :(

I could be wrong... But I think the "Long term" resets itself after certain parameters are met. Something to do with time or distance driven... Can't remember exactly what but I am pretty sure that it will reset itself sometimes.

Ah that's it. Every 100 hours. It resets itself. So don't worry it wasn't your fault!

Ah. I was about to say 'but after 2,000 miles surely it'd have reset before now?'. Then I realised our average speed is usually around 20mph (all those town journeys), which gives 2,000 miles for a reset. Thank you for saving me from torturing myself, but I still think it should not reset. :D
