Mazda CX-7 2.3T Manual (Black) 2008/58 £5.25k 52k miles

Featured Replies

For sale is my wife's Mazda CX-7. Its a manual petrol model with the engine from the Mazda6 MPS in it. It is for sale on eBay with the ad going live shortly.

We bought this car in April 2012 when our second child was born as we needed a sensible SUV, but also didn't want to give up on driving pleasure and performance. So we bought, as Jeremy Clarkson described it in a Sunday Times review, the god of hellfire!

There was only one spec for this car when it was sold between 2007-2009 (in petrol guise) which included almost every extra. It has:

4 x electric windows with a facility to disable all but the drivers window
Electric central locking
Front and rear parking sensors
Heated, black leather seats (very rare spec to find black body with black seats - far more common with cream seats which are less practical with kids)
Drivers seat is electric
Electric, heated mirrors.
6xCD BOSE sound system
ABS
EPS
Airbags - drivers, passengers and side
PAS
Xenon headlights with washers
Auto lights and wipers
Fog lights
Isofix fixings on the 2 outer rear seats.

In addition to the above spec, after we bought the car, we fitted a sat nav system with Bluetooth and rear parking camera.
The touchscreen sat nav has a much bigger screen than the standard system fitted by Mazda from 2009-2011 when the car only came with a 2.2 diesel engine,

The car has a full Mazda service history having been last serviced by TW White & Sons in West Byfleet in June 2015.

It also has an MOT until August 2016.

Mazda do not have a service book but instead they keep a full digital service record. This shows services as follows:

30/12/2008 - 493 miles  - PDI Barnett's Mazda, Dundee
25/06/2009 - 4,984 miles - 3,000 mile service Barnett's Mazda, Dundee
12/03/2010 - 14,584 miles - 9,000 mile service Barnett's Mazda, Dundee
17/08/2011 - 19,418 miles  - 18.000 mile service MKG3000 Mazda, Twickenham
We bought the car in April 2012
24/07/2012 - 27,345 miles - 27,000 mile service Motorlux Mazda, Newbury
26/07/2013 - 36,819 miles - 36,000 mile service Motorlux Mazda, Newbury
24/07/2014 - 46,722 miles - 54,000 mile service TW White & Sons, West Byfleet
18/06/2015 - 51,235 miles - 63,000 mile service TW White & Sons, West Byfleet

The MOT had 2 advisories - a windscreen wiper and rear shock absorber. Both have been replaced and can be evidenced by further invoices.

All tyres have plenty of tread left, 2 of them were replaced around 1k miles ago in June 2015 and the other two were replaced around 10k miles ago in April 2014.

Other than the above routine servicing, the car has also had the following done during its time with us:

Brake pads - Aug 2014
Replacement handbrake cable - Aug 14
OSF drop links - Aug 14
NSF Bottom ball joint - Aug 14
Aircon receiver dryer and full regas - Jun 14
O/S drive shaft - Nov 13

As you can see, the car has been extremely well cared for with a number of important jobs carried out and paid for during our 3 years of ownership.

The Bad Bits
The car has been used to ferry kids around for the last 3 years, so the exterior does show some minor scratches and trolley dings commensurate with age and use - see the last couple of photos.
There is a long scratch on the rear bumper as shown in the penultimate photo. There are also a couple of trolley dings in the passenger door - the paint is not split. I could've fixed them for around £80 from a dent man, but wanted to show that this is an honest car.
The previous owner was a builder and his gloves have scuffed the steering wheel.
It does sit in the top rate of tax so costs around £450 a year to tax.
You will struggle to get >30mpg

The Good Bits
0-60 in an official 8.0 seconds. However, it has been tested by Autocar and others to actually take around 6.5-6.8 seconds 0-60 which is more believable given the 260bhp on tap. Other than a much older Porsche Cayenne Turbo you cannot find a faster SUV with a manual gearbox.
Honest car with lower than average mileage for age.
Unmarked 18" alloys
Been improved from standard spec by the addition of sat nav, Bluetooth and a reversing camera.
It is one of the best looking SUVs on the road
Very rare car - you won't see many of these on the road.
You will love it!!

The Extra Bits
It will come with a set of floor mats
I will include the original BOSE stereo should you wish to refit it instead of the sat nav.
If the price goes above £5.25k, I will include a set of Artera roof bars specifically for the CX-7.

Oh, and in case you are wondering why we are selling, its because we are upgrading to the new CX-5, we still love Mazdas!

Please feel free to contact me on 07748 961755 if you have any questions. The car has a very reasonable reserve on it as I do want it gone in the newt week or so as our new car has just arrived. The car is to be collected by the buyer from Woking, Surrey.

A couple of articles about the CX-7 which may help:
