The trade in to the right......16 year old rust-ridden, creaky, squeaky, smoky, leaky (sounds like a bad Seven Dwarves remake) Audi A6 Avant.

The new motor to the left after signing the docs and taking the keys :)

The Audi looks the size of an A3 in this picture! :D

The Superb looks great - enjoy!

I think it depends how you're viewing the forum.  I personally haven't put the colour in a post because it's listed to the left of every post anyway - it's Business Grey btw - but I'm not sure that same information comes up if you're viewing it on a phone.

Thanks Danny, you're right that the colour doesn't show on mobiles/ tablets.

Love the business grey. Boring sounding colour but very smart. Have just ordered a 220 estate in business grey on the basis of all the business greys in this thread!

Greetings from Finland! I'm just about to order a Superb Combi SportLine, but I'm struggling to decide on the wheel size. The 18" anthracite Zenith comes as standard with SportLine trim here, but looking at the pics here it's become clear that the 19" Vega looks crazy good. I'm a bit worried about road noise though, so any comments about this are most welcome.

Sorry for going a bit OT, but I promise to post pics of my Superb when I get it :) Cheers!

I was a bit worried about the colour choice.  I needn't have.

This is one fine looking car! I was going for Laser White, but based on this picture I might just go with Business Grey after all. It's stunning!

The Black Magic was my wife's suggestion, she loves black cars. But she doesn't have to clean them ;)

She has a black 2 litre Clio with lots of goodies 6-speed close-ratio manual gearbox and low-profile tyres. Huge fun to drive, like a go-kart. :D

I chose the Superb's wheels because I have to clean them and can get my wash mitt behind the spokes and into the rim interior!

The new touchscreen looks really good in the cabin too.

Yes, I think so - and the gearlever surround is gloss black 'piano lacquer' which echoes the unlit parts of the touchscreen.

My better half is very pleased with the aesthetics.

Thanks mate!  Yes we love the colour.  Looks silver in some lights and darker grey in others, but light enough to show the contrast of the black detailing.

It depends what the roads are like where your normal drive is.  We've been driving around Cornwall all week, very narrow roads etc. but the surfaces are generally very good - and the ride quality is excellent.  Very surprised at how little road noise there is, to be honest.  However, where I live, the roads are terrible.  Potholes everywhere.  Really poorly maintained.  The car doesn't cope with them at all.  If you hit one at anything other than crawling speed it sounds like you've driven into a wall.  However, how much of that is down to the wheels/tyres, and how much is down to the lower suspension on the Sportline, I'm not sure - but the biggers wheels certainly won't help!

Road noise though - don't worry about that.

That's what I love about it. It looks a bit different depending on the ambient light, which I think is very nice. There happened to be a Business Grey Superb hatch parked on our street yesterday and the missus also gave the color the thumbs up, so all is good. I'll definitely go for this color (as well as Estate and 150 TDI, but with the new 7-speeed DSG)!

Cheers for this. It's the road noise I'm most worried about. I drive an Octavia III vRS on 225/40 R18 wheels now. The ride is fine but there's a bit too much road noise. The tarmac is typically quite coarse here which, depending on the car and tire, can generate quite a bit of noise. The Kodiaq on 18" wheels was definitely more quiet than the Superb on 17" wheels, so I'm a little wary about how 19" wheels would be in terms of road noise. Only one way to find out I guess... the Vega's are lovely!

Have clocked many Km's in Finland and can't remember seeing a single pothole :) (mostly winter driving though). Maybe spec the car with the additional sound insulation that is now available on MY18 versions?

Potholes no, coarse road surface yes. I'll absolutely go for the laminated windows, but that won't affect road noise too much I believe.

I can't see there being any significant difference between the two sizes for road noise, as far as I can ascertain both 18" & 19" wheels come fitted with 235 tyres just the 19" are lower profile. Assuming everything else is the same, thread pattern, etc. I don't see how the difference could be tolerable to intolerable road noise between the two sizes and as there are no potholes the lower profile should not be a big problem in any other way. go for the 19"s they do sit better on the car and are better looking IMO :)

I think that the lower the profile is on a tyre the stiffer the sidewall has to be. This would certainly affect the ride and will possibly transmit more road noise.

Superb Sportline in Brilliant Silver with 18" Zenith rims. Looking pretty good! Not my car though, got it from my dealer over the night for some test driving. Brand spanking new, it was driven 16 km when I hopped in :-) Ride is comfy and silent enough. Much softer than my vRS, but also quieter. I know what you mean with potholes being poison! I managed to hit a smallish one at 80-90 km/h and BAM! that was a loud one. All in all a very pleasant car. Still not sure about 19" rims though...

@SwissRob I agree with Superb170 and Participant. IMO the Estate does look well in black (better than the Hatch for some reason, don't know why?) and that beige interior looks really special.! I've often considered a beige/cream interior but never been brave enough......

You've got a very smart looking car there, hope you enjoy it (I'm sure you will..).!
