I was going to say the same - the link in @Evka's post appears to b a different design.

The Maxton Design v3 splitter is not subtle like the one on Evka's Superb.

The big difference I noticed was that peak torque dropped from almost 4,500rpm when standard (369nm)  to just 2,800rpm after the remap (514nm) therefore you get a much bigger push from low revs with the standard IS38 turbo (which is known for being a bit slow to respond at low revs) and maximum power is still delivered close to 6,000rpm so you still have to rev the engine for maximum performance. In gear response is much stronger at lower revs as a result and as soon as you brush the throttle you can feel the difference.

Doesn't the dsg gearbox cut the torque to somewhere in 400nm atleast that's the case with 280 and you have to remap your dsg too

Not had my DSG remapped and trust me it's got more than 400nm now. You can tell as soon as you touch the throttle. A new £98,000 Porsche 911 4S has 530nm and only weighs 50kg less than my 272 hatch. It has 460nm even at 2,000rpm. 50-70mph takes just 2.3 seconds.:)

Does the new one have 6 or 7 speed that dsg goes atleast for the 6 speed

DQ381 7speed which gives very punchy gearchanges like the latest Golf R with which it shares. The 7 speed box shaves 0.2 seconds of the 0-100kph time of the 6 speed DSG 280 for example. Also mine had 283bhp as standard on 99 octane not the 268bhp on 95 octane that Skoda quote.:thumbup:Also when it was standard the best trip average I got was 45.5mpg on a 200km drive, yet yesterday I managed 46.1mpg on my 27 mile commute to show you don't use more fuel despite the extra power/torque available.

Sounds nice 👍🏻. Yeah the old 6speed is limited so you need a dsg tune too.

Short Googling also said that the DQ381 could be limited to 460nm but could be good to 500nm

A friend of mine had his 280 DSG6 'full remapped': Engine @ 360HP + Flexfuel + DSG6

The DSG6 remapping is not only pushing the max torque limit a little bit further/higher. It also consists in increasing the pressure on the clutch discs, to make torque transmission more efficient. Additionally it seems that a side effect is that it also increases the max value on the HP curve.

Don't ask me how much, it's what my friend told me, whom I trust. He is not of the mythomaniac type.

Just checked my before and after graphs from the remap on 04/02/2020 and the maximum power when standard was 283bhp at 5,853rpm. After the remap maximum power was 359bhp at 5,881rpm (very close to standard) but of course 283bhp is produced much lower down the rev range now.

Does driving Skoda in UAE makes you a bigger or a lesser failure than in the rest of the World..?

No one even knows what is Skoda. Only car enthusiasts who are rare.

Skoda is not known for being an enthusiast's car. It is known for being a fleet vehicle.

On a positive note, a compliment about nice Audi is somewhat true. At least in my Superb's CoC it says Audi AG for engine manufacturer.

What I meant only people who are into cars sooo much know it is a Skoda. Otherwise, it is hard to find a person who knows what this car is.

For example, I only saw 4 other Skoda in my life in my whole city. Used car selling website here in UAE (The one and biggest website in UAE). Have a total of 3 Skoda for sale as well. They are under priced as well so much because they have no market here. When I went to the only official dealership in my city. My superb was the only superb available for sale in the whole country (Was trying to choose different colors). The guy working there told me the most people who buy Skodas are Egyptians and Indians (Which sounds right) since Skoda is very popular in Egypt and India.

@Cena yeah man I got your point. Superb is a solid competitor for a Camry as a taxi, it just happened to be unpopular outside Europe and a short list of other countries. I would say Superb is more practical with all the hooks and pockets and umbrellas, and in estate form it is an absolute workhorse.

I remember in 1982 on Tenerife my brother was taken to hospital in a Mercedes E Class taxi. Now the Spanish taxi drivers particularly on the Islands prefer Superb's and Octavia's.

Superb is MUCH better car than Camry. We have lots of Camry here. I can tell. I am sooooo happy with my Superb. Very fuel sufficient and much more practical as you said!

Driving a skoda doesn’t make you a failure....

it just makes you savvy.

the superb has won loads of awards. It’s a good choice if you want a very well specked car at a better price.
