Got the rear vrs bumper on, shows how different the gold is compared to actual silver. Most people think my car is silver..

I then moved to the front..

Fitting my oversized TIP/airfilter and relocating my battery to the boot.

Removed the standard TIP, heres a comparison of the two..

Then spent the best part of 45 mins trying to get the jubilee clip tight on the turbo. So frustrating as theres no room. Put on MAF and filter. I need to swap that black straight for a 45* to come towards the front more.

Decided to keep the standard battery top and secure it to the gearbox mount. Tidy enough and saves me messing about making up something different.

Did you have to relocate the metal coolant pipe to fit the tip?

Looking well good! I will not be doing anything as good as this to my beige mobile haha

Will be keeping eye on this

I unbolted it from engine and bent it out of the way. We'll see how it gors as it leaked from the push fit on the front of the engine when i bent it [emoji38]

I'm sure Dan cut the hard pipe and fitted normal hoses to give the extra room

  • Author

Yeah i couldnt be arsed to mess about with different pipes. Few bits ive noted to be changed when the engine comes back out.

35mm2. Which is 240A, seems quite thin really but should do the job. I'd probably go bigger if using on a diesel though.

My battery tray arrived today so i cracked on with the install.

I replaced the wingnut on the top (width adjustment) as the width is set and the spring washer was M8 not M6 so looked a bit naff.

Got the boot floor drilled and rivnuts in place.

I used a bigger washer on the X as i didnt want the smaller washer to sit uneaven.

Sat battery in to see how it looked..

Drilled, removed paint and fitted an M8 rivnut for the earthing point.

Measured up for the fuse, the flat bit behind the light was a no brainer. I shortened my cable and secured the fuse holder to the car. Again used M6 rivnuts.

Require a 20mm cone cutter for the cable to go through the bulkhead, so left it untill tomorrow.

Removed the bonnet to measure up fixings to replace with my fibreglass one. I'm going to weigh each to see difference.

Sorted out cable through bulk head and to starter. Fitted a 25mm gland and filled it with sealent as i couldnt fet it tight enough due to ABS unit.

Still looks a mess but will tidy wiring to the ECU once i get chance to take off gearbox mount off.
