Nice, but almost a shame to lose the OE look of the install.

Went for a quick drive to see if the surging was cured by fitting the Forge valve.. It wasn't so need to do some vagcom logs see whats happening.

Oops I still reckon it's air mass related, not chucking any other faults other then the old ones?

Done! And I only fell asleep once :D (I'm getting old)

Removed the rear door cards from my mates Vrs today as i wanted the manual knob thing which mine didnt. I liked the standard door cards over vrs so just swapped the internals over.

Also picked up another engine, 6 speed box with a Quaife diff already fitted. It has uprated clutch/flywheel too so this will be going in at somepoint.

Phil do you know anyone good at powdercoating?

  • Author

Depends what you want doing. I know a few places local, one is cheap and doesnt like having to mask areas. Other is expensive but will mask off areas etc.

Decided i'm going to keep my set of Octy vrs 312mm calipers and get them fitted. So my wheel choice isnt restricted as much.

Theyre in pretty bad condition as they have about 5mm of corroded paint on them [emoji23]

Stripped them down..

Good choice mate then 16"steelies ftw

  • Author

Na i have to many 16" alloys [emoji23]

They all fit over the Brembos but if i see a cheap set or something the option is there. May just use Brembos for track days.

Few more pics of the blasted brakes. The standard green paint is so thick in places. I've just left it as it'll cover easy anyway.

Everything i had for sale that wasn't sold has either gone in the skip pile or in a box. Need some more boxes now..

Got the car in the garage today. Decided against the front subframes as the rear beam annoyed me more.

Dropped the beam off..

Turns out changing the rear beam off and putting it back on is a bigger job than i thought. What a ball ach [emoji23]

More updates tomorrow. [emoji38]

Well it is when you take half the back end off with it! That stuff (bumper, liners, lights) can stay on while you do the beam :P
