Phil's Fabia 1.8t Build Thread (ex 1.2 12v)

Instead of using the washers as a spacer try using some thick walled rubber pipe, cut to length, you'll find that'll put enough springy upward pressure on the catch as well to stop it rattling

New brake discs and pads arrived today. Brembo discs which are apparently ceramic coated? Sounded good so went with them.

Ferodo 2500 pads, bit i'm not 100% convinced they will fit. They look different shpe to whats in at the min. [emoji16]

Well today was very frustrating..

Brake pedal sunk to the floor, pumping it got the feel back but would atraight away sink - air in there somewhere.

Bled the system using the ezebleed thing, nothing.

The new rear calipers had an air pocket in them, had to turn them upside down and manually pump the pedal. All sorted now.

Went to fit new pads - wrong one. Theyve sent the BoxterS ones not normal Boxter pads. So need to send them back for a refund as they dont sell the correct ones.

I have a leak in the coolant system somwhere, suspect passenger side near radiator. Its not dripping but when up to temp steam comes out. Possibly a seal thats gone, cant identify where its coming from though.

Some pics anyway..

Few pics of rear with exhaust.

I didnt want twin tips as i had them on my Fabia vrs and currently have them on my Octy. All other ovals or round looked too big or odd. Quite like this one..

Nice tailpipe that mate, also looks like the most accurately positioned oval tail pipe I've ever seen on a fabia! Lol looks perfectly lined up with the bumper cutout.

excellent :) I have that clutch and flywheel in the octy, feels very good. I also have 2 RSR's on the back, and I'm picking up two more at castle coomb (for the front!)  :) awesome tyres!

I was impressed with yours at the 'ring so i tried them. Gone through a set. Was between the RSR and Ns-2R but went with what i know.

As for the clutch/flywheels etc.. I don't actually need it, bit it was £100 delivered brand new with all new bolts etc. So saving £180?? So was a no brainer as i will need it soon.

Bargain [emoji38]

I have thought about the nankangs. but they are still more expensive (in 225/45/17 flavour) than the RSR's, and because I know the RSR's work in the rain, i have stuck with them, and picked up 4 from pete's old car for cheap money :)

and yeah the clutch is good for 300lbs/ft I believe! :o can't go wrong at that price either!

you bringing this to the the ring Phillip?!

It's just something to keep me out of trouble, which was cheap to build. Its costing me a fortune now i've decided to take it that step further [emoji23]
