Off custom maps?

Im just waiting on a 45* silicone reducer for MAF - filter. Then its off to get exhaust and MOT

Spoke to AwesomeGTI today and theyre sending out all what they have in. So just need FARB which will be end of the month.

Seems like free parts as i paid that long ago [emoji38]

What FARB you gone for?

Whiteline. 22mm.

The only other option really was the VW racing, which isnt far off twice the price.

I've paid for Bedford trackday which Richard has arranged.. So i thought i better crack on and get the Fabia sorted.

First thing this morning, booked in for a full exhaust. Probably a 3" downpipe and a 2.5" back. I want it to run well bit the potential to save me money when i go for more power. Thats tuesday (15/3/16).

Got the car down on 4 wheel for the first time this year. Sorted rubbing issue with passenger brake - its knackered the disc. So need to order a new disc.

Then set about fitting my bonnet latches.

Alot of messing about and theyre on. The pins need a better way of securing them, bit for now theyre fine.

Few pics on the way.

Marked up where theyre to go.

I'm going to get a fibreglass repair kit and fill the hole ive cut under the bonnet to strengthen it i think.

I don't really like the look, but they do a job and the bonnet wont fly open now.

I was thinking behind each headlight going sideways angled slightly back, that's if that's possible, it's how I've seen them mounted on Fabia rally cars, it don't look too bad, if it's all going body colour they will blend in

  • Author

Its the only place they can be done really where the bonnet is flat and the front panel allows for the pins.

Fitting the 6 screws into each was a right ballach, so ill leave it to bodyshop to sort haha

Yeah normally put the pin through where the rubber height adjuster is.

Enjoying reading your updates, really jealous of the glass bonnet! And aero catches are cool but can be a pita :)
