this has to be something to do with it shredding CV joint rubbers too.... must be an underlying issue.... maybe gearbox mounting a a centimeter off somewhere putting things under pressure?

Get a new one in there before Bedford .. and pack a spare ;)

He had one, it was at home :P

Had a mate a rew years back that had this issue on a 200hp nova with a redtop in. He was running it low enough to change the angle of the drive shaft and cv joint so the inner cv joint was lower than the outer cv joint by only a couple of cms. Not sure if this something that might be the same on yours?

Yeah, I think there is probably another issue.

It's a bit coincidental that I've done two CV boots and now a CV.

I'll have a look when I get a few days off work.

Managed to sort it enought to get it to Brands Hantch for the Brisky Racing day. The track was very wet and greasy to didn't put in any good times, my best was a 1.04 before i killed the car. Then the track dried out :-(

Was it a cheap aftermarket or anything?

I had similar happen on an after market one from Euro car parts that's all.

Might have to suck it up and go genuine mate, I bet there £100+

I've had the same with euro car parts cv joints

Just destroyed a eurocarparts cv on mine in 7 months (11k miles), had a friend change it at VW and he ended up cutting it off. Went for a new genuine one, they're £165 ish.

Well that confirms what I thought at least. Four of us killed Euro driveshaft components :D

Wasn't from ECP but another aftermarket one.

There was plenty of grease still in there so shouldnt have caused an issue. Looks to me like its failed as it couldnt handle the track, maybe look at a genuine one.

Have a look at J&R drive shafts. They're pretty decent and have a 2 year warranty
