Parking sensor problems

Featured Replies

Belatedly noticed that this device was not working - took car (under warranty) to Skoda dealer, who tried to argue that I must have backed into something and damaged a rear sensor, but having argued this as nonsense, further investigation apparently showed that the control module had failed. A new one comes from Czechoslovakia but it would seem that there are so many on back order that it is obviously a general fault with this 13/14 model. Do others agree?

Had a few bugs with it thinking something is there when it's not. But overall no problems in the last 11 months for me?

What was it doing/not doing?

Was that from the mid 1990's?

Never had any issues on 2 O3s now with the parking sensors or module.

Andy, would you know if it is possible to wire in front sensors so they are integrated into the system? My new Scout only has rear sensors.

Depends if the right module is fitted from the factory.

You can buy upgrade kits from carsystems.pl

Just a side note, you can do a quick and easy sensor test yourself by selecting reverse with just the ignition on then go and put your ear to each sensor you should be able to hear a ticking noise, all sensors on the same car should be the same ticking volume and speed with your ear against it. If ones different or not ticking it's faulty.

Different cars tick differently depending on model.
