Fabia Vrs Speedo (strange)

Featured Replies

Any vRS fabia owners noticed that once you reach 90 in the car it enters warp speed. The speedo reads in 10mph increments until you reach 90mph. There is no 100 weird huh? 10 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 90 110 130 150 ........ strange or maybe I'm just sad for noticing!!!!

You could look at that two ways. Either :-

1) What the hell are you doing driving me over 90mph ?

or

2) Come on, only 20 mph to go to 110, 130, you know I can do 150

:)

1) I was er erm on my own personal racetrack :D

2) Just thought it was weird!!!

any one know if you can change the colour of the fab dash

(i assume it is a case of just changing bulbs???)

This might sound silly, but is there twice the gap between 90 & 110, compared with 80 & 90? Or does the speedo needle just go up twice as slowly once it surpasses 90mph, on that private test-track. ;)

the gap is the same!!

something to look out for when I EVENTUALLY get that call from my dealer telling me they have a vRS in to test.

I have noticed this. Very strange indeed! Also found out that it does enter warp speed! ;) Left a string of much more expensive machines in my wake on the M3 and M25 tonight! I am still running it in, honest! :D

On my own private disused runway i manged a GPS reading of 139 in ours and that was with only 800miles on it althought it is 185bhp with 304lbft torque ..... lol

Now thats what I'm talking! Quick as the vRS is, I want to get it Jabba'd to get more power!! :D

Where did you get that done Barry? Is it expensive - oh yeah and here is the big question - what does it do to the insurance??

Pretty impresive pace!!

I looked, and the needle slows down :D

altho 120 still comes up pretty damn quick!

oh... by the way VRS_barry..

what milage was on yer furby when you had it chipped? ;)

Actually the Fab is quicker up to around 70ish against my Tavia vRS. And off the mark it aniahlates the Tavia!!!

And it still averages about 45-50 to the gallon.....nice!:drive1:

......that'll be the torque....errr.....talking then.

very interesting barry as i'm planning on getting the fabia vrs for the missus next may.

above 70, what is the performance differential like? ( 98RON APR mode on the octy )

Not so unusual for VW though... the new Golfs (Mk5 just out) do similar... increments of 10 up to a point then switch to increments of 20!
