If people were really smart they'd ban big cities. They're the cause of all these problems.

Im not sure but I think they can test for co2 cos there was a print out for the co2 level

There might well be a measurement of CO2 percentage in the exhaust mentioned, but it isn't something that there is a pass/fail limit on.

CO, carbon monoxide, is measured and must be below limits for petrol engines, is that what you're referring to?

Edit: no, I see yours is a tdi. Dunno what your MOT man was on about then.

Plenty Volkswagen Senior Employees have departed the Group.

Yet another departs.   Maybe sometime they might tell what they knew and who those at the very top knew,

the actual Board Members that lead the '3 monkeys' and approved the deceit and illegal behaviour.

Are we to take it that the cheat device achieved very little?.

If so, why was it installed in the first place........something smells

The cheat device wasn't with regard to C02!

The cheat device wasn't with regard to C02!

I understand that, but they say its removal will have no effect at all on economy, performance BUT with reduced NOx emissions.......out here at least.

So why bother in the first place........unless it's to reduce the work load on the EGR valve when NOT being tested....ie bypass it when on the road.

That's the only reason I can think of.

If they were destroying evidence in the United States then there might well be Senior Employees needing to invest in Soap on a Rope.

The CEO in the United States made a smart move resigning and getting out quickly.

It is odd where some media are trying to put a spin on VW recovering quicker than GM because of their way of watching online searches and enquiries on new cars, when actually the VWG have done nothing positive to recover other than spending big on advertising with

the Media while not getting on with 'the fix', or the new Open and Honest Policy.

I think they're having trouble swallowing the hubris medicine meant to treat denial.

Roadside Emissions testing: Checks on actual vehicles at the roadside.

Not sure if this article should say the Testing was stopped in England and Wales because recently there was a programme on the Road Side Testing being carried out in Scotland, but maybe that was different & by other organisations & Monitoring & the Roadside & not testing vehicles at the roadside / 'Inspection Point'.

any new inputs?

I guess it will probably be the case that German auto manufacturers won't be writing the EU's EPA emissions legislation from now on.

I can imagine Toyota and Honda will be most pleased and will seek support in establishing the infrastructure to support their alternative fuel cell powered vehicles bringing clean air to the major cities.
