i decided to modify the dash in my Combi 

need to do my switches now :)

aren't they maybe just a little bit too bright ?

I've had my dash LEDs converted for the past 4 years. Not too bright at all

I mean, at full dim they do really look brighter than the default ones at full brightness. I dunno how you preffer driving at night, but I really like a calm interiour light. Sometimes I switch off my HU display for this.

No the switches are 3mm LEDs and will probably need a resistor.

I'll disassemble one of the swiches advice what the voltage is at the internal bulb

There's probably a resister in the switch(s) itself

I don't find them distracting

Looks awesome. How difficult is it to remove the cluster from the car itself?

Super easy, remove black panel under cluster by pulling straight out towards you, then remove 2x T20 torx  and pull cluster out

Lift purple tab on green connector and lift internal tab on black connector and remove

Make sure battery is disconnected so you don't accumulate fault codes

Thank you both, hated the boring green, reminded my of the mk2 Mondeo my dad had many years ago lol  :D
